The difference between Kiffin and DeBoer IMO.

This is DeBoer's defining moment as Alabama's HC.

It's year 3 and you lose this game and you probably sit out of the playoffs.

For Kiffin it's year one and LSU is willing to spend any amount of money to build him a team.

If DeBoer loses this game, then I see him losing the majority of the fanbase and the willingness for us to spend for him.

Do you live in Alabama? What's the fans saying on the ground there about DeBoer?

That’s not a difference of men,

it’s a difference of circumstances.

One thing ive noticed about Kiffin is that his system is rock solid but it needs time to snowball.

You can see it at OM. When it clicks, it clicks. This is going to be a hell of a game.

Deboer suffers from Saban hangover. A large group of the fanbase can only remember Saban at Alabama so they don’t fully recognize ups and downs that every team normally has.

Brian Kelly was the 1st hire at LSU that I can ever remember that was a dislikable person from the start.

Every coach Saban on at LSU had a unique personality except BK.

Deboer doesn’t seem to stand out in any meaningful way. He’s not dislikable, but he’s not real likable either.

Alabama has all the pressure on them. Expectations are higher for them than LSU this season.

If LSU wins they are exceeding preseason expectations. If Alabama wins they are meeting some of theirs.

Seems like a big decision to place on one game. Especially when 3 losses doesn’t completely eliminate you from playoff contention this year.

The man in charge controls the circumstances.

Or, at least, he can if he so chooses.

For Bama it does. There isn't any meat left on their schedule after this week.

I think if Bama loses we need a lot of help the rest of the way. The only thing keeping us so high in the polls is Kentucky and Scar playing well lately. Once Kentucky inevitably loses a couple games we wont get that.

Disagree. I absolutely think it does. I want to see a team that recognizes this is must win game and is hungry. Do your job and do it to the best of your ability. That comes from coaching and building up players to make them dogs. Saban was a mastermind at that. What other coach could make a team of 5 star players think they are underdogs in a game and getting totally disrespected?

It didn't matter who Alabama hired after Saban, they were going to be in a terrible position from day 1 because of this. Nobody can follow Nick Saban. The only good thing about it for DeBoer is when he is eventually fired, other programs will recognize this fact as well and give him the benefit of the doubt. He'll be fine elsewhere, he's just not cut out for Alabama.

It was a weird hire from the start.

They're mostly talking about the questionable play calling by his coordinators, especially on offense. Unless Bama catches fire to finish the season, DeBoer is going to have some tough decisions to make.

especially on offense.

Defense is not so great either. Ranked 102 in pass defense, awful 3rd down defense, terrible red zone defense -teams score 95% of the time. Sure they are opportunistic with ints, terrible with fumble recoveries, but overall Kane’s defense is just mediocre.
They get a pass because everyone’s hung up on Grubb’s playcalling on offense.

In gumpland they aren’t really happy with him and hate the DC, Womack. They are on thin ice. Deboer will not be fired for losing this game but a loss with Kiffin schooling Womack or scoring a lot of points will probably seal Womacks fate in my opinion. He may finish out the year but he will be the scapegoat

Lane Kiffin is Eli Drinkwitz in disguise. Killer vs. inferior competition. Loses vast majority of games against teams with equal or more talent.

Prove me wrong.
