Then y'all clobbered us in the SECCG a month later.

That's the game that really surprised me. I assumed that Bama had just caught Spurrier off guard the first time. I was expecting some payback.

they are asking us to believe:

1. He killed himself,

2. On suicide watch,

3. The guard fell asleep, AND

4. The camera was broken

My thoughts exactly. The stars certainly did align for Jeff. If he killed himself, it was because he was allowed to. Probably encouraged to.

I'm thinking Strong Safety. With his speed, size and experience in attempting to read defenses, he would be All-Pro.

As an LSU fan... I put Oats and Quiffin on the same list and that's the list of scum that I don't want to see coaching at LSU.

You sure about that? What if Oats went to LSU and won six NCs? Imagine the level of "in your face" that would bring.

If some future President Dem were to decide that it is good "domestic policy" to euthanize all GOP primary voters, I suspect that you would (rightly) demand for the Judiciary to intervene.

So in your mind, deporting illegal gang members is the equivalent of euthanizing legal republican voters? Just to be clear, both examples are damaging to each party's respective voter base?

I might be ok with his champion, but UCONN? I hope Florida wins by 100.

Yeah screw UCONN. I doubt Ryan Williams would bet anything significant on Bama winning it all or Auburn going out in the first round. He's just a kid having fun with it.

The thing about "unconditional' love is that it's got one condition. It's got to be a two-way street. Unless the father was a legitimate danger to others, there is no excuse for that kind of betrayal. It would take a bigger man than me to forgive something like that.
Getting knocked out by Yale in the first round last year is paying dividends. Auburn is playing with a laser like focus this year. Their efficiency is ridiculous.

2019 Bama was better than 2020 Bama

They might have been before Tua screwed up his ankle against UT. They just weren't the same after that.
I don't think we've seen what Deboer is capable of yet. He inherited a QB that didn't have the skillset to run his preferred offense but was a preseason Heisman contender. He made the logical choice and tried to tailor his offense to suit Milroe's strengths while minimizing his weaknesses. I won't start doubting Deboer until I see him lay an egg despite having all the right pieces in place.

and the best way to avoid that is for us to proceed with cases OTHER than 'personal affronts"

Agree to disagree. They took the gloves off a long time ago. They have gone directly after political opponents and made no secret of it. Trump is in the position to bring these people to justice with the law and constitution on his side. Screw the perception from the left. They will paint it as political targeting regardless of how Trump goes about it.

I want the place cleaned out - but not by pursuing PERSONAL VENDETtAs first. that makes us no different than the pukes we are trying to replace - screw that bullshite.

I would agree if those “personal vendettas”are carried out by illegal means. Until it’s shown that they are, we are totally different than the pukes. Trump is trying to see that laws are enforced and that people who have blatantly disregarded them are held accountable. If that’s seen as a personal vendetta by some, it’s because they are being held accountable for their illegal and very possibly treasonous acts.
I say bring the wrath. It is well deserved.

It was that bitch Lucy. Peppermint Patty would never do that to Chuck.
Point taken though. I won't feel like it's in the bag until Oprah sings.

Bama was legit in 2020 and beat everyone in front of them, but getting to play on the road in empty college stadiums is not the same as there was no longer any true homefield advantages.

Doesn't that work both ways? Teams didn't have to play in front of a rowdy crowd in Tuscaloosa either.

In some ways, 2020 was more legit because it came down to two teams competing without the distractions. It was about which team was more fundamentally sound and could execute better when you could hear a pin drop.

I don't think it was a good move by Bama.

Deboer is a good coach, but I don't think Bama's ready for that yet. They still want "Saban", which won't happen no matter how good the new guy is. They need to get that out of their system first, and THEN go get their guy

So a better move would have been to intentionally get an average coach who they knew would get run out of town? The main reason Bama was able to get DeBoer, one of the hottest names in coaching, was because of the current shape of the program. Trying to "go get their guy" after a few years of mediocrity and depleted talent seems like a bold strategy.

DeBoer's got some things to figure out obviously. Not the least of which is how to instill some discipline in some of the players. That said, the way Bama looked against Georgia in the first half was as impressive as they ever looked under Saban. I think it would be a good idea to wait a little while before writing him off as a failed experiment.
quote:

Problem is, Deboer came in thinking he could do things better than Saban, and made a LOT of unnecessary changes.

Another big problem was that he knew that the talent on his team could jump ship if he didn't play his cards right. His players were allowed to transfer out but he wasn't allowed to replace them. Some of the more "valuable" players might have let it go to their head. Malachi Moore is a good example.
It won't get really hot unless he does something crazy like going 7-6 in his first season. We call that "Pulling a Heupel".
