I know a lot of people are upset with the current scheme of how cfb operates... but damn those dudes might as well retire from the board.

That and watching teams from Indiana embarrass the SEC juggernauts (Bama and UGA) kills it too.
I love equating our loss to Notre Dame where we actually outgained them, lost by 13 and were never down by more than two scores in the fourth to a game they were out of at halftime. And I won't even mention our QB making his first start ever in college in that kind of atmosphere.
I mean, the idea that it's all NIL is ridiculous. A large portion of it is they are just one of the good teams now and are no longer picked as an elite team to start the season.

No, it is more the transfer portal.
A big part of college football used to be keeping up with recruiting, watching players sign as high schoolers, develop for a year or two, and then play. Fans were fans of a team, but they were also fans of certain players. You knew who your players were, and you knew who the opponents best players were.
Now you spend the first half of the season asking “who the hell is that? And where did he come from?”
So no, college football has changed immensely. For people who grew to love it during the 1980’s or 1990’s the game today is not the same game they grew to love.
The fact someone who is supposedly an Alabama fan would try to use this as a troll gives micro penis alter energy.
I am just excited to be the second person to post in this thread.

The transfer portal has been terrible for the SEC. Deep South has the most football talent but can’t hold onto it anymore. Kids are less likely to stay close to home after their freshman year so the talent disperses more than stay concentrated closer to its genesis.

Anyone claiming they're super excited for college football in the "pro teenager" era is lying.

Except it's not all NIL. It's also the early signing period, it's the transfer portal, it's conference expansion, it's playoff expansion, it's everything that has happened within the last 12 years that has slowly degraded and destroyed the sport that I once loved.
It has nothing to do with no longer being the top dawg. It sucks that we're no longer elite but I have had experience with that as I came of age as a fan in the middle of the DuBose years. It has everything to do with what made college football unique.
It's minor league football now. No one likes minor league anything.

You figs won half a dozen titles the past 20 years.
How fricking soft and pitiful do you have to be if a few average seasons are enough to throw in the towel

I started throwing in the towel in 2021 when I started to see where this all was heading. I purchased NFL Sunday Ticket for the first time ever today. If college football wants to become a semi-professional league I'd just assume watch the real thing.

They just want the good old days back when a Dodge Charger is all recruits cost.

I think Bama fans are having a bit harder of a time because they're still coming off the Saban high. In some ways, Saban somewhat insulated Bama from the worst of the nonsense.
