I thought with Saban gone the bias would fade away... I guess not!

I just don't get it!

It’s simply pity now.

They’re coming up on a decade since their last championship anyone recognizes and are on the brink of officially becoming solely a Softball School.

Fun to watch.

Look at it this way. The committee is doing LSU a huge favor. And doing college football a favor by eliminating Notre Dame if they lose to Miami. Yeah, that keeps the door open for a 3 loss Alabama or Texas to get in, but better them than Notre Dame with that sorry excuse of a schedule.

They say they don't factor in viewership, but they do.

We are too high, but it's not like we haven't shown we are competitively a top 10 team. We have just shown our floor can be lower than we should like.

I think this is just the new sport we are in. Injuries are going to take VERY good teams to middle of the road due to not being able to recruit past 2 deep with real talent anymore.

We’ve also shown… our floor is better than almost everyone’s ceiling.

Bama at #5 is literally the best thing that could have happened for LSU.

1. If LSU wins, it's a huge boost to their resume.
2. If LSU loses, no real harm done because they lost to a top 5 team.

LSU fans should be happy about the ranking, instead of melting.

I agree.

It's odd they are crying about this considering most think they will whip us by double digits and consider us a cooked as a football institution.

They should be celebrating an easy win over #5 which would finally give them a marquee win since they don't have one yet this season.

The human element comes into play with these committees. They bond over nice dinners, drinks, a golf game then huddle to have their meetings. It's just natural when it comes time to rank teams their history or alliances come into play.

Note Mike Riley committee member (former Bama player) with deep ties to his school in his bio:

Riley graduated from CHS in 1971 and opted not to play his college football in the Pac-8, but for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SECunder head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.[13][14] He had family connections to the state and school: his father was born and raised in Guin and his uncle, Hayden Riley, was Alabama's assistant athletic director, head baseball coach (1970–79), and the former head basketball coach (1960–68).[6][15] (Mike's cousin, Major Ogilvie, became a star running back for the Tide in the late 1970s; Ogilvie's mother Peggy was one of Bud Riley's five sisters.)[5][16] In his four seasons at Alabama as a reserve defensive back,[17] the Tide won four Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles and the 1973 UPI (Coaches Poll) national championship, though they lost the 1973 Sugar Bowl to Notre Dame on New Year's Eve. Until 1974, the final Coaches Poll was released before the bowl games.

Correct, it absolutely helps LSU. But it's still bogus and I think a lot of Bama fans can even admit that.

The funny part is those that are desperately trying to explain it away because they feel guilty.

Ok, name the teams you think should be ahead of Alabama so we can compare.

As KKKLSU has shown, most of tRant isn't that smart and their Bama Penis Envy trumps all other considerations.

I can't believe the committee chair said bama beat Mississippi st when they were still full strength. That's somewhat unforgivable considering his position.

They don't watch the games. That's about the only explanation.

Very tough matchup for Bama. Talented QB and strong run game up until UTe. Then Bama can’t run and all the pressure goes on 12 in a hostile environment. It continued at home vs aTm.

I felt better about the team after a loss to UGA than I did a win vs Aggie.

Bama gets the center and DL back and maybe RCW in some capacity, but if they can’t run and take pressure off 12 in Tiger Stadium, it’s going to be a long afternoon.

Bama is good at creating turnovers and Leavitt likes to throw them, so maybe that will help.

Did you watch the practice clip from yesterday? He's running around without a knee brace. He looks good to go.

To be fair, going into the game not one word was reported that the QB was injured. As a matter of fact, he was still in the game when the game got out of hand. It wasn't until it was out of hand that he got hit on his apparently sore ankle or toe. So his injury had nothing to do with the game. It wasn't until after the game that all of a sudden he apparently had the flu, a hurt foot, and all the other excuses that popped up after the game was never mentioned going into the game. There were a lot of analysts picking them to win going into the game. If he was so hurt and injured, they sure kept it quiet until they needed to use it to say that's why they got their a$$ curbed stomped.
