The human element comes into play with these committees. They bond over nice dinners, drinks, a golf game then huddle to have their meetings. It's just natural when it comes time to rank teams their history or alliances come into play.

Riley graduated from CHS in 1971 and opted not to play his college football in the Pac-8, but for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SECunder head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.[13][14] He had family connections to the state and school: his father was born and raised in Guin and his uncle, Hayden Riley, was Alabama's assistant athletic director, head baseball coach (1970–79), and the former head basketball coach (1960–68).[6][15] (Mike's cousin, Major Ogilvie, became a star running back for the Tide in the late 1970s; Ogilvie's mother Peggy was one of Bud Riley's five sisters.)[5][16] In his four seasons at Alabama as a reserve defensive back,[17] the Tide won four Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles and the 1973 UPI (Coaches Poll) national championship, though they lost the 1973 Sugar Bowl to Notre Dame on New Year's Eve. The LSU Tigers are adding two players to complete their 105-man roster for the 2026 season, which eliminates the possibility of the program bringing in former NFL rookies Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Tuesday.
Cornerback Aidan Anding and defensive end Gabriel Reliford, two returning players for the Tigers, are joining the roster, sources told Thamel.
Reliford is in his third year with the Tigers and Anding is entering his second year. Both were left off the 105-man roster ahead of LSU's season opener, a 51-10 win over Clemson on Saturday, after suffering injuries in the spring.
The decision means LSU coach Lane Kiffin and the school are moving on from their efforts to add Wright and Harris, an issue that has escalated into a significant legal battle between the school and the SEC.

Have been to all SEC stadiums for games except Texas and Missouri. Will hit Austin in 2 years when Vols play there. No interest in Mizzou tbh.
