Polls are trash, but keep winning and it won’t matter.

Our entire body of work is arse.
We have beaten Kentucky.
And we have 2 losses.
Theres hardly even any good teams left for us to play.
LSU and Auburn are the only two shots we have left and they play eachother next week.

you think Alabama, who has likely played the 2nd toughest schedule in the country right now doesn't belong in the top15 because they lost games to a top5 teams and what you think should be a top10 team, because 11th is too low.
1. This is the worst sentence I’ve ever read, are you having a stroke?
2. Bama has two losses to one loss teams in regulation… one of those losses by double digits.
LSU has two losses to one loss teams by a combined 9 pts, one in OT
3. Auburn has the same number of losses as Bama, TX, LSU, etc + a #1 win on the road.
4. Bama dropped 6 spots across two Ls, LSU dropped 12 spots across one. LSU does not have a worse loss than Bama.
5. Your best win is Kentucky, who a week ago the AP saw fit to drop out of the top 25 following an SEC road win.
Everyone outside Tuscaloosa is looking at y’all the same as ND right now lol.

Did those who voted even watch football this weekend?
This is the worst ranking of the season by far.

AND they specifically said that the committe is going to base things on SoS this year.
What is the onky metric to base SoS on?
The polls.

And Tennessee had a chance to beat Texas too and be undefeated by that logic. What matters is the final score and who won. Tennessee beat Auburn by double digits

Pollsters sort of protect their opinion by getting anchored to things that have nothing to do with what has actually happened so far.
I wholeheartedly agree.
That term “anchored” carries a lot of weight.
Reminds me of a recent experience I had with a doctor who anchored on a diagnosis based upon his previous patient experiences. He wouldn’t entertain alternatives or run appropriate tests, so I got a second opinion elsewhere which obliterated his diagnosis. He responded with anger.
That’s a stretch analogy, but the anchored mindset based upon perceptions rather than results is a great point.

It's fine really. But I can poke holes if you want.
Alabama has likely played the #2 most difficult schedule in the country so far.
After 7 games, they have 2 losses. One against your #9 and one against your #10. They also have a win over your #12 and your #21. 4 out of 7 games against ranked teams.
Meanwhile you rank LSU #15, but they have 2 losses as well. A loss to #4 Ole Miss and a loss to #12 Kentucky(the one Alabama beat). The best win is against #21 Miss St, which Alabama also has.
Kentucky you have at #12. They have a loss to #16, and their only ranked win is a win over #15.
Tennessee is #10 because they have a win over #16 and #25, but a loss to #18.
Georgia you have #9, they have a win over #16 and a loss over #25.

Where do you come up with this bullshite?
There are literally tons of different SoS metrics out there. Some of them bad, some of them good.
I post the ones I think are the best every week. They won't be updated until tomorrow night, so I'll probably post them either late Monday night or on Tuesday.
Week 6 SoS rankings
Using the FEI ELS metric.
Strength of schedule ratings represent the number of losses a team two standard deviations above average would expect to have against the schedule of opponents.
Listed in order by overall rank, expected losses to the right.

#3 Alabama - 1.24
#4 Oklahoma - 1.20
#5 Kentucky - 1.18
#8 Vanderbilt - 1.05
#9 Miss St - 1.04
#11 Texas - 1.03
#12 USC - 0.97
#17 Georgia - 0.83
#25 Florida - 0.73
#29 Texas A&M - 0.66
#38 LSU - 0.53
#41 Ole Miss - 0.48
#44 Tennessee - 9.45
#47 Missouri - 0.41
#50 Auburn - 0.37
Other notables

#52 UCLA - 0.37
#58 Indiana - 0.35
#74 BYU - 0.26
#87 Notre Dame - 0.21
#91 Miami - 0.19
#96 Texas Tech - 0.18

Bama, LSU, and Texas are all too high but the most egregious ranking is Notre Dame.

It was only double digits because Auburn went for it at the end of the game when they were near their goal line, dumb arse. Auburn basically lost by 5 points on the road.
Once you start ignoring the actual results you start to go down a pretty slippery slope
Tennessee only lost to Texas by 3 after their starting QB got hurt and kept playing. If he doesn’t get hurt or Tennessee plays their backup they probably win that game. So in a certain context Tennessee is basically undefeated
But they’re not and you can’t rank them that way. And Auburn lost by double digits to UT because they did

Don't worry. DeChoker has at least two more losses in him. He'll make the LSU, A & M and Auburn games all nail biters and possibly losses.

Tennessee and UGA being 7 spots difference is laughable.
Outside of Bama (who Tenner beat by more) Tennessee has arguably better wins and a better loss
Pollsters don't like teams that win the way this one is winning. Tennessee is all defense right now. We win by making other teams look bad while our own offense struggles along.
It's stupid but it really is a beauty pageant.

That’s about where I figured we land.
