That game was the nadir of my LSU fandom. After traveling to Auburn and seeing that travesty the week before, I sat in Tiger Stadium in a torrential downpour and got soaked to the bone watching us lose a game to Brad freaking Scott.
Me too. I kept hoping someone would tackle Taneyhill by his mullet sticking out of his helmet. I swore I wouldn't go to another LSU game until Curley was gone.

That right there is just one example of why LSU & Auburn need to be permanent opponents

I seem to remember story being told that Phil Bennet had to be restrained from beating Lyn Amedee's a55 after that game. His defense had played lights out and for the game to be lost like that I can see where he was spitting nails! lol

Didn't Robinson go pro after this season.... and not much heard from after that?

That game falls squarely on the incompetent heads of Hallman and Amedee.
They both should have been fired on the field.

Whoever is calling that game sure takes a long time to say auburn. Auburrrrrrrrrrn.

Damn, lsu been sucking for a long time.

Exhibit A of why most LSU fans consider Curley Hallman the worst coach in SEC History.

The crazy thing is that there is still almost a 100% chance LSU wins that game even after the second pick six if they just start running the football at that point. Coach blew that game for LSU.

He did, and it was glorious.

It was a blessing in disguise. It was obvious that Curley was toast after that abortion.

That’s what’s co crazy about this game. Offensively, we don’t do diddly shite all damn day.

If I remember correctly, we had another defensive score of some sort in the first half.
They had a HUGE tight end, LaFleur? That killed us.

I think you’re right. In fact, and I could be wrong because it’s been over 30 years, but I think either our offense only scored a field goal or nothing at all that game.

I looked up the box score.
We recovered a fumble in the end zone.
One FG.
3 pick sixes.
Missed a PAT

I was at that game. We were all just looking at each other with looks of WTF are they doing? Hallman = worst LSU coach - possibly the worst SEC coach in my 54 year life. Joe Dean was a horrible and cheap AD - may he rest in peace.
On the drive back to BR from Auburn it was pretty much dead silence.

Only SEC game I've attended that didn't involve Alabama. Lived in Atlanta at the time and went with a group of mostly LSU fans.
