Jamie Howard had a sneaky strong arm. I think he pitched too?

He was drafted out of HS by the Braves and played minor league baseball during the summer while still enrolled at LSU.

In my section we were all saying there is no way he is going to pass now.
That was before the last interception.

Wasn't there also an Auburn fumble recovery for a touchdown? Or am I remembering it wrong?

It’s been a great series, but I have blocked that game from my memory!

BTW, LSU leads the series 33–24–1

I remember this game because I made the trip to Baton Rouge for the season opener against my Ags and had such a good time that was tuning in for more LSU games.

I can still remember the WTF moments.

I can remember watching this game live. One of the biggest meltdowns I have ever watched on a football field.

From the box score:

1st downs: LSU 21, AU 8
Rush yds: LSU 127, AU 71
Pass yds: LSU 280, AU 94
Total yds: LSU 407, AU 165
3rd down: LSU 9/21, AU 1/12
TOP: LSU 37:50, AU 22:10
Fumbles/lost: LSU 2/2, AU 3/3
Int: LSU 6, AU 0

At the start of the 4th quarter, Andre Lafleur kicked a 39 yard field goal to put LSU up 23 - 9.

The following week South Carolina got their 2nd win vs LSU.

That game ruined Jamie Howard but, to me, it wasn't his fault. I' didn't understand then and still don't today why, with the lead LSU had, Amedee insisted on calling passing plays instead of running the ball. That game falls squarely on the incompetent heads of Hallman and Amedee.

It's not a strong defense for her but there was little to cheer for in the first 3 quarters. However, if she was a little old lady, I'm solidly on her side.

I wasn't offended. Me and my friend just looked at each other and chuckled.

LSU actually had two turnovers on one play at one point. Jamie INT, Auburn DB fumbled, LSU player recovers and runs with it, then fumbled it back to AU.

And yes, Auburn also recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD. Four defensive TDs.

The worst part of the Auburn game was I had to go tailgate with Auburn friends afterwards. They later said I was a zombie.

That game was the nadir of my LSU fandom. After traveling to Auburn and seeing that travesty the week before, I sat in Tiger Stadium in a torrential downpour and got soaked to the bone watching us lose a game to Brad freaking Scott.
