While I have absolutely no inside info..
There is a great deal of conflicting info floating around and I think this is due to (first of all...) a deliberate attempt at flooding the information space with misinformation but secondly because there are fractures within the IRGC as a result of the multi-layered leadership removal.
I have no reason to not believe statements given by Vance and Trump (other than the hyperboli the Trump can utilize..)... Any other info released connected to our MSM and/or the IRGC falls under the umbrella I mentioned previously...
We know ships are navigating the Strait regardless of what statements the IRGC is making...

IMO....
Due to its diminutive size and the heavier trigger pull I personally find it difficult to shoot (as in accuracy). Also, I would ad the size and weight of it lends itself to more recoil than any of the 9's I carry adding another layer of difficulty in accuracy...

So your telling me you know nothing about Fyodor Dostoevsky without telling me you know nothing about him....
Let me help set the context ... Dostoevsky is generally considered one of the greatest novelist not only in Russia but also the World.

If the rest of the Arab countries dont want to help, then what are we supposed to do?
This is definitely another part of the equation... It seems rather naive for the Arab world to think (as it seems to be the case..) that they can just ignore the neighborhood idiots and sooner or later they will go away...

I honestly think it feels so much worse than it actually is because of all the talking trumps done. If this is 4d chess, we need to get the fk up and stop playing.
Good point and I tend to agree with this thought...

The officials said they beleieve regional countries would never agree to an arrangement that doesn't permit toll-free access to the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz has always been considered a public seafaring strait so I would in no way be of a mind to negotiate anything regarding his item. My stance on this would simply be The Strait of Hormuz is international territory and any language or action by Iran to "manage" the traffic through the strait would be considered a breach of international law/standards.
If they want to charge tolls for ships coming into their ports thats up to them ...

...but I’m not buying it. This deal sucks, period.
While I do understand your sentiment... the 1st thing you have understand is there is no real "deal" in place. Rather there is simply a negotiated framework/outline from which a future deal is to be negotiated.
I personally am of the opinion that once the bombs start dropping (I have used the exact analogy previously) you have kicked over the hornets nest and now you just have to burn it to ashes. While I do not doubt we have crippled the IRGC and Co, given enough time and money they can recover. So I think its a mistake to negotiate some "deal" now... there has been nothing in their public rhetoric that indicates they have cried "Uncle" ...
Having said all of that... I am in no way interested in any "boots on the ground" type of thing so that severely limits your options. Outside of the general populace taking the reins I do not know what other viable options are available..
Just my opinion..
re: When did America start being known as a ‘melting pot’?
Posted by klrstix on 6/18/26 at 9:10 am to weagle1999
Per Google...
The evolution of the metaphor includes key milestones:
1782 (The Concept): French-American immigrant J. Hector St. John de Crèvecoeur wrote that in America, "individuals of all nations are melted into a new race of men".
1800s (Variations): Thinkers like Ralph Waldo Emerson and later Henry James referred to America as a "smelting pot" or a "vast hot pot" for diverse nationalities.
1908 (The Exact Phrase): Israel Zangwill’s play cemented the literal phrase in the public consciousness. The protagonist declared, "America is God's Crucible, the great Melting-Pot where all the races of Europe are melting and reforming!"
Early 1900s–1920s: The term gained massive popularity during the major wave of European migration, heavily influencing assimilation movements at the time.
Counter to this thinking is the idea the the US is more like a "tossed salad" or "cultural mosaic".. which I tend to agree with this perspective generally. More so with the recent influx of Muslims into our country...
The melting pot metaphor was probably a good one when most of our immigrants were european...

1. I have no idea what the hell Trump is thinking. Does he or does he not really want this deal???? If he does he is a moron.
2. I don't think this deal will go through and be the last thing. At best, and I doubt that strongly, at best it is kicking the can down the road.
3. My hope is that this is more stalling simply to have all sides stop shooting while Iran slowly starves do to the sanctions that will result in Internal failure and regime change. Granted this "hope" is just a hope.
I echo these thoughts... I have no idea what is really going on but there seems to be a great deal of misinformation floating around which makes it difficult to really know whats going on... The Trump Admin would do themselves a favor by more effectively communicating what their overall position/goals are....

As someone that has been a part of contract negotiations for over 20 years I can tell you I have seen plenty of "preliminary framework" type of set ups go up in flames when all parties are sitting at the table. There is nothing binding with them and sometimes the other party is acting in bad faith when signing them..
