Texas has enrolled and rostered a former NFL player, LSU has not

Texas has an OL who was paid by the NFL, and they signed him, enrolled him, and put him on the official roster to play.
LSU has not done this.
These are the facts.

Nice graphic, but it doesn’t compare any payments they received. I’m pretty sure that Dae’quan got something like a $25,000 signing bonus; I think Xavian did too. Both of them signed pretty hefty contracts that would have paid six figures for staying on the roster into the season.
Was Hutson paid anything over and above expense reimbursement for tryouts at a mini camp? Sounds doubtful but I don’t really know. Would be an important fact.

Actually, he did have to sign some kind of agreement to go to an NFL camp, which would have been a professional contract.

Cole Hutson signed an NFL contract. It's called a waiver and is legally binding on him and the Cowboys. He was also paid by 2 NFL teams to participate in tryouts, likely over$1,000 cash plus room and board etc.

Correct. Wright and Harris both signed NFL contracts.
I admit I am not familiar with Louisiana’s Napoleonic system of law. But I know it is different than every other state. I think this is one reason there is such a divide between how LSU fans view the world versus everyone else.

He was not paid a salary. He was given a per diem. The IRS does not consider per diems as taxable income.
Again, the reason there is such a disconnect between LSU fans and every other P4 team and fanbase on this issue is that Louisiana has a different legal system than every other state in the Union.

I’m not an expert on the Napoleanic Code, but unless I’m mistaken there is one very important difference in Louisiana’s procedural law. In most states, a decision by a lower trial court is given deference and a presumption of correctness on appeal. In Louisiana, my understanding is that appeals are de novo. (La attorneys, please weigh in if this isn’t correct).
What this means is that any decision by a lower court judge in Baton Rouge has little to no weight if it’s appealed, and you’d have to wait until the appeal is resolved before having a degree of certainty about the matter.

Harris’ contract was not guaranteed and he received no signing bonus.
If per diem doesn’t count, he’s made $0 dollars as a pro and was injured so he participated is exactly 0 professional practices or camps.
Explain how that’s any different from the Texas player again?

If “getting the job” is the new line that has to be crossed we’re going to see a lot more than these 300 some odd athletes back in college this season.
