Tennessee should sell the rights to the name University of Kentucky.

Tennessee owns them.

Is your football stadium literally named after a fricking grocery store? Also Thompson Bowling Arena isn’t going anywhere. They will basically share the name. “Thompson Bowling Arena @ Food City Center.”

You’re almost there, buddy.

Tennessee has agreed to a 10-year naming rights deal with Food City for the school's basketball arena. The deal is for more than $20 million over the next 10 years

It’s still THOMPSON-BOLING ARENA just at Food City Center.

And Food City partnered with UT athletics years ago be be the official grocery store of UT athletics. They have a 150 something locations throughout the South east and are sponsors of nascar (multiple circuits and teams) and are based in Virginia.

2 million a year and didn’t change TBAs name. It’s a solid deal all the way around.

In that case I will apologize. I'm man enough to admit when I am wrong. Disagree with your assessment, but that is irrelevant.

Honest question, do yall leave the south often

Texas ain't the South and I've never seen a "Safeway" anywhere in Texas. Not even in El Paso. But then again, a lot of regional chains seem to be owned by either Kroger or Albertsons (both are supposed to merge soon btw). In West Texas, there is "United Supermarkets", in Houston, we have Randall's, and in Dallas, there are "Tom Thumbs". All three (along with Safeway)are subsidiaries of Albertsons.

Idk wtf a Safeway is, but I know I ain’t never seen a single goddamn one anywhere in Alabama in my entire life

It has to exist in less desirable areas which makes the name ironic

Apparently Food City narrowly beat out Dollar Tree for the naming rights.

It was actually Value Village.

The spin from Tenner fans is tasty

Spin? What are you talking about? It’s facts that Food City is paying more to share the naming rights than what Kroger is paying Kentucky for sole name rights. It’s still gonna be called Thompson Bowling Arena. Just adding @ Food City Center

I feel bad for all of you who don’t have Harris Teeters. Publix subs are hit or miss, but a HT sub is always outstanding. I got a 6 inch tuna on wheat Monday and it took me an hour to finish it. They don’t use scoops, they use serving spoons for the non deli sliced subs meats.
