LSU fans - serious question

Posted by AlaskaAg on 11/12/25 at 8:56 am
I might get blasted for this but I’m just putting it out there. Why not take a look at Dave Aranda? I know he has been mediocre at Baylor but he’s a defensive coach, has history at LSU, doesn’t come with baggage…with your resources and top recruiting area I think he could be successful.

Thoughts?
I like Florida and you fans have always been cool, but why in the world would yall be upset by this and what obligation does Napier have to do anything for yall. Most of you seemed to hate the hire and have bagged on him since the day he stepped on campus. You never gave him an inch. But now he’s supposed to be nice to you and issue a statement saying nice things? lol what the hell are you smoking? You canned him in the middle of the season and have treated him like shite. I don’t blame him one bit for helping anyone that comes calling and asking for his help.

Get over yourselves please. He owes you nothing. You canned him. It was your choice knowing that this could happen. Move on.

I think it's more they don't want to be associated with an organization that lacks class.

If that was the case they wouldn’t have let Archibald go to tu.

Kelly is still being paid his salary. So even though he was "relieved" of his duties as Head Coach he is still being paid therefore employed. Its a legal loophole.

Well that all sounds good but it’s not how employment law actually works. There is no “legal loophole” that gets around the stipulations of the contract. As I stated above:

Wrong.

• Employment contracts (like Kelly’s) end on notice, not paperwork.
• LSU’s public firing + removing duties = constructive termination under LA law.
• No “separation docs” needed for without-cause trigger — contract says “termination”, not “signed release.”
• Kelly’s lawsuit seeks declaratory judgment that firing = without-cause now.

Not exactly an argument that holds up in court or through arbitration. Is he familiar with the term “contractual obligation”?
quote:

No, this is simply LSU’s only possibly argument against paying the full buyout. LSU is trying to save money and this is a negotiation. Unfortunately for LSU, it’s weak and BK isn’t taking a pay cut.

Not only is it weak, Kelly now has a strong case for breach of contract and a weaker case (still a case that can be used to threaten for leverage) for libel based on LSU’s misconduct claims.
1. “Still an employee until separation docs”

2. “Legal posturing for settlement”

100% correct.

• LSU’s “no formal termination” claim = leverage to force lower settlement.
• Both sides posturing — Kelly wants full $54M w/ offset, LSU wants $0 via “for cause.”
• Settlement likely $35–45M to avoid trial.

3. “Fall under company policy + contract”

Partially true.

• Contract supersedes policy where they conflict.
• “For cause” defined only in contract — policy can’t expand it.
• LSU can’t use generic HR rules (e.g., “insubordination”) unless contract allows.

Bottom Line

Kelly was terminated (functionally).
LSU’s delay is tactical, not legal.
Contract governs — not HR policy.
Settlement imminent.
LSU was contractually obligated to give Kelly seven days to respond to a release “for cause”, but LSU has also made attempts at settlement. At this point I’m not sure how they argue their way out of the fact that Kelly was fired as they announced it, replaced him, fired their AD over it and have not once until now made any attempt at any other narrative except that he was “fired”.

Also, LSU cannot use the rumors of an affair as a means to deny the buyout. It is legally irrelevant under the contract.
If they give him $40 to $45 million and an apology today, this all goes away. Thats what LSU should do. I don’t know that they will though.

I think they are going to make a “for cause” case against him out of the Greg Brooks lawsuit.

Agreed, was overblown until now but this new development is a PR disaster.

I have said from the beginning that the situation was no more or less dramatic than a lot of coaching change drama but that Louisiana was just generally not good at keeping a lid on their drama.

I stand corrected. This is not a good look at all and getting worse by the minute.

I’m curious what LSU fans think of the impact, if any, it will have on getting the coach you want.
Damnit. She told me she quit OF
Yes. I would be very happy if we are able to do all those things but I absolutely hate losing to tu. It is the worst. Absolutely the worst.

LMAO…LSU still thinking they are an elite job.

LSU is a top five job and the best one currently available. If it had been available at the time, Kiffin would have taken it rather than Ole Miss. Guaranteed.

I really have a hard time understanding people like you.
Yeah already two downvotes and I can’t help but think it’s because of that admission. It will really blow their mind to find out I was an 0451 in the corps for eight years and registered Republican. Happy birthday brother.
I will be completely honest; no matter how many games we win or how far we go in this season, if we lose to the whorns it will leave a sour note on the season. We can’t lose that game and I don’t think we will.
As a Jew, the rise of blatant hatred is getting a little scary. Don’t agree with arresting this idiot though.

Hope you deal with your issues.

That was in reference to Arch being back in the Heisman discussion you dimwit
If tu wins out then they are definitely in the playoff and Arch is a leading Heisman candidate. I hate whorn but I have to hand it to them, they are masters at selling their brand to the media, creating and owning the narrative and manipulative marketing to get their way. It’s pretty remarkable.

No. A pussy is someone that would immediately come into a message board and create a post downplaying the legitimacy of an undefeated team that just absolutely beat the frick out of you. Just suck it up, take your lumps, say congratulations and move on instead doing this shite. Makes me wish we had hung that last touchdown instead of mercy kneeing you. Such a little bitch of a team and fan base. No wonder Drink wants out of that shithole.
