Isn't Food City one of those small chains in low-income neighborhoods?

Apparently Food City narrowly beat out Dollar Tree for the naming rights.

1). It's basketball...so who cares

2). So, now it has the same sponsor as the speedway just up the road in Bristol. I guess that makes sense.

Ours is named after some random donor family. It's the nature of the beast.

Kroger has more $

We have won the grocery store wars. Conference's only hope now is if Arkansas goes all in on Walmart

No. They run a primary brand in East Tennessee. They took over a bunch of BiLos, but they also operate Fresh n Low, which is what you describe. Fresh n Low is a discount grocery chain in small rural areas.

Food City also gargle balls. It's the worst-run grocery of any major chain here. I absolutely hate going there. I'll go out of my way for a Publix.

So many stadiums have stupid branded names now that I cannot even care.

You can't convince me that naming a stadium after a dog food company leads to a single extra sale of dog food. Just tacky shite.

Somebody's got to pay for it. Better a dog food company than the fans and/or students paying more for it.

Lived in Texas for years. H-E-B doesn't hold a candle to Publix. Not even close.

Too bad your shitty coach and football team aren't another level.

What does H-E-B have to do with Jimbo Fisher?

Parent company is K-VA-T Stores (because they operate in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee). HQ is in Abingdon, VA and they do a bit over $1 Billion in revenue each year. It is privately held/employee owned....and they are the sponsor of the "Food City 500" in Bristol. That's been the name of the night race there since 1992.
