That is a classic SEC whinefest. You hit all the talking points so I give you credit. But no one cares because when the SEC had the power they ran roughshod over the sport like you believe the BIG is doing now. You guys sure didn’t listen to anyone when you and ESPN manipulated the BCS era.

Quiet simpleton.

SEC did nothing to change rules, impact collegiate structure, abuse power, etc.

That has always been the B1G who has forever been jealous of the SEC forcing different changes and adaptations from BCS to the playoffs in an attempt to force their underperforming members into the national title scene.

Every single time they go quick success then it backfired. This 12-team playoff is about to backfire as well and they see the writing on the wall which is why they were trying to get ahead of it all with a 24-team playoff.

The B1G is a pathetic and corrupt organization which controlled the NCAA, then left that husks to rot. The worst part is they have a shill controlling the greatest conference in college football which generate the most money and have him bending the knee to do their bidding.

1 Texas
14 Iowa vs 19 Ok State

2 Georgia
15 Oregon vs 20 Houston

3 Notre Dame
16 Miss State vs 18 USC

4 Miami
13 Utah vs 17 Tennessee

5 Ohio State
9 Ole Miss vs 21 SMU

6 Indiana
11 LSU vs 22 Boise

7 Alabama
10 BYU vs 23 UCLA

8 Florida
12 Texas Tech vs 24 Nebraska

8 SEC
7 B1G
5 B12
2 ACC
1 G5
1 Independent

Some of the 1st round matchups are boring, but I like most of the 2nd round games.

And fans of blue blood teams all over the country are crying that they can’t block others from competing for their precious titles. Man, this sucks…..

Counterpoint - how many shitty coaches get extensions and raises because they "made the playoffs"?

Viewership on the year is down 11%. The 12 team playoff is already devaluing the regular season. Four was enough.

16 maximum. A seeded 24 team field will have some absolute blowouts.

I'm ok with 24 teams...

It's postseason football. The bowls are dead.
More than 24 teams made bowls.

Some teams will be thrilled to get in. Some will expect to at least make the quarterfinals (final 8).

I still preferred the old bowl setup, but that's gone.

Not to mention how much other games mattered from a SoS perspective, since that was so much more important. I even ran advanced stats programs on teams to measure them and see if BCS buster teams were legit (they weren't).

I don't know why people act like it wasn't exciting.

People want to talk about viewership, but back in the day I would watch damn near every game. Even during the week I watched games I missed. I'd watch those Thursday and Friday night games. I'd watch every single bowl game. I knew about every team, who their players and coaches were, etc

Now I pretty much just watch ABC and Alabama games. And ABC is free.

Man this is so true. People of the future will not be able to comprehend this insanity. You really had to be there to fully appreciate the madness.

It’s hard to complain about more meaningful football games.

Y’all said this same shite when they kept adding bowl games.

Horrible.

Absolutely. What are the chances that a team outside of the top 6 at the end of the regular schedule/season will win the championship?

It would have to be an 84 team playoff for Arkansas to be in the running

I think all the changes already made have made the college football regular season fall behind the NFL. 24 teams just makes it exponentially worse

Will teams outside the top-24 just decline to go? I've read where Athletic Departments lose money on bowl trips.
