So we will pay a 9-3 coach $200 million over 7 years for making a 24 team playoff once a decade?

Hilarious

9-3 Georgia Tech and 10-3 Virginia would've snuck into the playoff last season.

30 something percent of Power 4 teams will make the playoffs.

It's really really going to make the regular season feel like the NFL in the shittiest way possible.

Twelve is already too many. They’ve ruined college football.

Potential 18 game season? Might as well start paying all the players in the millions or increase the scholarship count to 125 to even make it through the season. By the time they make it to the NFL, majority will only play 5 years due to the wear and tear of CFB.

Goodbye to the only sport where the regular season mattered. Multiple loss teams in a participation tournament. Such bullshite.

Good bye college football.

Lee Corso was right.

The regular season should be a large part of the championship. Not a place holder for a playoff.

It’s hard to complain about more meaningful football games. If you think it’s too deep, just don’t watch the first 2 rounds and then it will be down to 8. But you know you’re going to watch.

It's not more meaningful football games though. At best they are removing the meaning from many more regular season games and putting them into a few games.

I’d disagree with that.
Win or go home playoff games between top 25 teams are meaningful. And it’s already been proven that taking the playoffs from 4 to 12 kept more teams in the hunt for a playoff spot later in the season. Plus fans are going to get 2 rounds of home field games. That’s pretty awesome in itself.

I love the conference championship games and now that means we will start games in mid August. So half our season will be in ball sweat heat

It’s 24 teams. You’ll have fricking 4 loss teams in. Regular season means next to nothing now.

It’s approaching March madness, but it’s unsustainable as frick because football is not basketball.

I can’t imagine the opt-outs, injuries, staff turnover and portal window is already a clusterfrick as it is… they still haven’t figured that out but now they want to make the season LONGER?

Who even gives a frick at this point? This sport is fricking dead.

This is the NCAA, I promise you this will be an absolute clusterfrick & not in a good way. How many games we gonna have now? When does the season start and end?

fricking stupid.

I remember when every regular season game was pretty much a win or go home if you wanted to win a NC.

Now I watch the games thinking "We can lose 2 and still be fine".
