Someone help me understand why Lane is willing to burn it all down for a TE

This move makes absolutely no sense to me. Is LSU’s TE cupboard really that barren?
Does Lane think this guy is going to be the key to their season?

The confusing thing is LSU's TE is probably the best in the conference.

You're confused because you believe Lane is behind all of this.
Rather than this was always going to happen and Lane was just the first to talk about signing a player.

You all think this is just Lane. UK in a lawsuit. TT, Tex, aTm have been involved. In fact Basketball is just as involved here but their season doesnt start next week.

Exactly.
To OP's point, it makes no sense for Lane to mastermind this just to land some backups who have zero chemistry with the team, a week before kickoff.
If you stop assuming Lane created it, then things make a little more sense.

So, explain it to me, I legitimately don't see how Wright makes more money by lying about this.
