I literally had no response. She is a teacher.

is she the one that went airborne on the OU fans??

You should have asked her what the hell she was doing out of the kitchen.

Jesus. How can you even think about football first in that situation? Taking the whole "fan" thing a little too far when you hope a dying teenager is too sick to have an opportunity like that before he passes away.

there are morons in any fanbase that would say shite like this. it's the random dumbass fan that wishes injury on an athlete.

I agree, I was stunned and had no words.

Most female football fans are just awful.

Everyone knows the story of the teenager that is an LSU fan that lives in Birmingham and is dying of cancer. Les Miles has been in contact with him and the kids wish is to live long enough to see one more LSU/Bama game, God bless him.
I was at a friends house last night and of course we are all Bama fans. They are wealthy and have a skybox in Tuscaloosa, so we are not talking trailer park fans. These people are all alumni from Alabama.
She said, and I paraphrase, have you heard about the kid that lives here that is dying of cancer that is an LSU fan? I responded by saying yes I read a lot about it this week and coach Miles told him to save him a place in heaven. I proceeded to talk about how tragic it was and could you imagine being a teenager and your only dream left is to see a damn football game.
She immediately said, "but Miles is talking about having him come to the game and talk to the team and that could be the motivation they need to beat us. I have heard is is not doing well and we need to hope he doesn't feel like actually coming to the game and speaking to the team. I hope he lives but I hope he watches from home."
I was speechless! How do you respond to that? And, people wonder what is wrong with this fricking world we live in.
College football is really, really, really important to Alabama fans.

We had a young boy who's wish was to spend a day with our team and tour everything. He hung out with the baseball, basketball and football teams. It was more or less his dying wish. His family was so happy he got to live his dream. He passed away about 2 weeks after all this.

You didn't have the balls to speak out against your wealthy friend.

No because I don't think you can even begin to argue with someone like that. No possible way she could ever get it.

You have my permission to call her Queen count from here on out. I don't care who you are, you deserve to be called out of name on the regular if you think a game is more important than fulfilling a dying kid's wish.

Why do you think most LSU fans hate Bama fans. I wish I could say this was an outlier, but I've seen stuff like this far too many times, unfortunately.

Like I said, you should have called her out on her comment.

Holy shite. This is crazy talk.
" I mean let him keep breathing but frick his dying wish."

Scoop...that is indeed sad.
Not surprising, but sad. And I can imagine her tone when she said it, anyone would have a hard time getting her to admit she said anything wrong.
Did your friend (hubby) have the grace to look embarrassed at least?

Sadly, some people (who are nothing but fans) take college football way too seriously in the grand scheme of things.
That said, if the kid is still alive (hopefully) and is in anyway able to attend the game (assuming he feels up to it) then I have no doubt that people from both LSU and Alabama will do everything possible to make sure the kid has what in all likelihood will be his last wish, granted. I suspect their are many affluent Alabama fans from Mountain Brook that would move heaven and earth to make sure the kid is happy one last time.
