Everyone knows the story of the teenager that is an LSU fan that lives in Birmingham and is dying of cancer. Les Miles has been in contact with him and the kids wish is to live long enough to see one more LSU/Bama game, God bless him.
I was at a friends house last night and of course we are all Bama fans. They are wealthy and have a skybox in Tuscaloosa, so we are not talking trailer park fans. These people are all alumni from Alabama.
She said, and I paraphrase, have you heard about the kid that lives here that is dying of cancer that is an LSU fan? I responded by saying yes I read a lot about it this week and coach Miles told him to save him a place in heaven. I proceeded to talk about how tragic it was and could you imagine being a teenager and your only dream left is to see a damn football game.
She immediately said, "but Miles is talking about having him come to the game and talk to the team and that could be the motivation they need to beat us. I have heard is is not doing well and we need to hope he doesn't feel like actually coming to the game and speaking to the team. I hope he lives but I hope he watches from home."
I was speechless! How do you respond to that? And, people wonder what is wrong with this fricking world we live in.

Hope you told her to think about her priorities. That kid has no bearing on the football game. Hope he feels great and is able to enjoy the game win or lose.

Very sad, I love college football, but it is a game played by young people. Many fans need a life.
