Are people seriously arguing about football from the 1910's?

Half of schools barely knew the rules or could field teams, which is why you had ridiculous things like having shutouts every game all season or the Ga Tech vs. Cumberland 222-0 stuff.

That's not really the point. The point is the records of the period we didn't play them.

BAMA's record during that time 266-74-20
AU's record during that time 196-136-10

National Titles during time-frame
BAMA - 5
AU - 0

Conf Titles during time-frame
BAMA - 4 Southern Conf, 4 SEC - 8
AU - 1 Southern Conf, 0 SEC - 1

Not to mention Auburn was kicking bama's tail during that time. Bama didn't take the lead in the series until Bear broke off 9 straight in the late 70s up until Bo showed up.

when the series broke off, AU did have the lead. Once the series returned, Alabama took the lead in the middle 50's, but then AU was able to retake it by the end.It really kinda of went back and forth until 1965 and Alabama took the lead for good......

During that 40 year hiatus: Bama had Wallace Wade and Frank Thomas eras. That was when Bama became, well, Bama.

Cumberlands's first practice was the Monday before the game. Their first practice ever...

Yea, this thing took a break when Alabama was hitting it's stride on the national scene. Had they kept playing Bama would probably have a 25 or 30 game lead in the series.

And auburns program suffered big time not having Alabama to play while Alabama flourished. Hence why aubie went to Montgomery to force the rivalry to resume. They knew they were on their way to being to Alabama what ga tech is to Georgia.

Beats Bama consistently ? You've won 3 of the last 10. I guess that is big deal to you.

How were they even able to avoid each other while members of the SEC?

The SEC didn't start making the conference schedule until sometime in the late 1970s/early 1980s I believe. At one point they just required you to schedule 5 SEC games, but most teams scheduled 6 and there were several years Alabama scheduled 7 or 8. In fact Alabama was the outright SEC Champion in 1972 even though both finished with 1 loss (Alabama lost to Auburn and Auburn lost to LSU), but because Alabama scheduled an extra SEC game they had a higher winning percentage.

bama wanted to pay Auburn players less and the SEC refs more. Auburn insisted that Auburn's players get the same $ amount as the refs. In the end, the refs got more and the Auburn players got nothing.

Yes you know more about our history, unlike you aubs we live in the present, you guys live in history. In history you actually won sometimes, we stay in the present cause the present is GOOD. You know history? answer this, how many times has auburn had back to back 10 win seasons, HINT Bama has more back to back National titles than aubs have back to back 10 win seasons LOL

Dumb barner Alabama took the All Time Series lead in 1965 and hasn't relinquished it since.
