I think it’s interesting that Jackie has framed the concept to make us an NIL machine

Because he’s selling it to you. Without you questioning what happens once the money runs out and you’ve created an even bigger budget deficit you are already experiencing. 100% Kiffin is behind this shite and gives zero fricks about what happens to lsu after he’s gone.

Imagine giving a guy a bigger contract for not being able to do even that.

This is the funny part of the BK vs DeBoer debate.

Both got blown out in the SECCG by UGA in their first two seasons, DeBoer made a 12 team CFP, it didn't exist during BK's first two years.

So the Bama case for DeBoer, is that he finished four spots higher than BK in the CFP.

That sounds good until you remember that DeBoer inherited a semifinal team and BK inherited a sub .500 squad.

$100,000,000 now to give up 10% of future media rights money forever? That sounds like a pretty crappy deal for LSU, honestly.

That's payday loan bad.

If you're saying it's a bad deal, it has to be great.

If you think Lane Kiffin is that Machiavellian to convince our entire administration and donors to fork over 100 million immediately to make LSU an NIL machine then this cat is going to win 10 natties at LSU

ETA: obviously parties far more intelligent than Lane Kiffin are steering this boat

The thought process that Kiffin was able to make do at Ole Miss with less resources for six years, but will now suddenly destroy LSU with more resources, is an interesting case study in brokenness.

If he can rally 40 baws to pitch in and start a PE firm then he’s so much more than a horndog and football savant. Could be an insane era ahead.

Imagine Pete Golding trying to convince donors to start a loose version of PE

ChatGPT thinks Pete has bigger plans up his sleeve.

Scene: A private room at an upscale Oxford steakhouse. A handful of Ole Miss donors are gathered around. Pete Golding stands in front of a PowerPoint titled: "Project Alpha Blitz Capital."

Pete Golding: Boys... and the one guy who's here because he thought this was a duck hunting dinner... thank y'all for coming.

Now, everybody talks about NIL collectives. Everybody talks about booster clubs. That's adorable. That's playing checkers.

I'm here to talk about... leveraged buyouts.

(Confused silence.)

You know how linebackers fill gaps?

We're gonna fill... capital gaps.

See, football recruiting is cyclical.

Private equity is also cyclical.

Coincidence?

I don't believe in coincidences.

***
Slide Two.

(The screen simply says "Synergy" in 72-point font.)
***

This is synergy. It's like energy but synthetic.

We're gonna raise a billion-dollar fund.

We'll buy companies nobody has heard of.

Manufacturing.

Medical billing.

Regional HVAC distributors.

Maybe a chain of car washes.

I don't know. That's what consultants are for.

Every dollar of EBITDA becomes another four-star defensive tackle.

It's practically algebra.

Donor #1: Pete... who exactly is running this private equity firm?

Pete: Great question.

Me.

Donor #1: Have you ever worked in finance?

Pete: I've watched The Big Short twice.

And every February I rebalance my Bass Pro credit card points.

I'm basically halfway to a CFA.

Donor #3: I don't think that's how any of this works.

Pete: Exactly.

That's our competitive advantage.

Nobody else is thinking this way.

Donor #2: Where are we getting deal flow?

Pete: Every Sunday after church.

If a guy says, "Business has been okay lately..."

Boom.

Target acquired.

Donor #3: Pete... this sounds incredibly risky.

Pete: So is Cover Zero.

Yet here we are.

(The room nods reluctantly.)

Sidewalk, I don’t say this to be mean, I really think you need to check into an institution after that post.

Well, you are Aggie so the thought of sucking dicks brings out happy emotions from you. Laughing at it is a manifestation of your excitement and arousal.
