Godawgs4So I just walked around the famous “grove” for the first time by Godawgs4The Grove is basically a park on campus with stately trees and a beautiful ambience. I always heard it was 8 acres. I am a State guy but part of the reason we developed “The Junction “ was because of what Ole Miss had in “The Grove

Junction is underrated imo

The Junction? I am making my first trip to Starkville this year so I might check it out on gameday.

Tailgate area south of the stadium. Can’t miss it.

And junction allows grilling while the Grove doesn’t. Us fat rich delta farmers need our steak and burgers, not some wal mart chicken fingers. Junction>>>>grove and it’s not up for discussion because I’m drunk and I fricking said so. If anyone has a problem I’ll be at the local sonic

To those ask me what the hell I was doing there, I was driving through the area and thought I would go a bit out of my way to check it out. Would you have preferred I drive past?

I think we’re all pretty indifferent on whether or not it was our preference that you stopped. I do think we all wished you hadn’t made this post, or in fact found this board at all in the first place.

I think you're the only one who wishes he hadn't made it. I'm damn glad he made it. Some of the replies are some of the funniest stuff I've read on this board all week.

"Why no, sir, actually you’re not. You’re not supposed to be impressed by any Mississippi plot of land on a 117 degree July Sunday afternoon…just how stupid are you?"

"I don't think any of those people mentioned to walk around The Grove on a Sunday in July, dumb arse."

"Did you sit in the stadium, too? I'll bet that wasn't very impressive, either."

"I went to Yankee Stadium in December and it sucked."

So if “ the grove “ is an empty field why is it hyped up???

To compare to OU...

The Grove (and circle) are like the ovals at OU. Except it is a way bigger space, with way more and taller trees and no Boyd or Lindsey street providing constant noise.

For football games if you can imagine the south oval at OU being wall to wall tents for tailgating then it would be similar. However, OU won't do that because they work too hard on their lawns and they don't want them damaged.

Also, 'Ole Miss doesn't have anything like campus corner because the bars and retail are downtown on the square (about a mile distant). So the Grove is all there really is by the stadium. And that of course strengthens the tailgating.

One time I drove by Clemson's Death Valley in early summer. I had always heard that place was supposed to be really loud but you could have heard a fricking pin drop. Not impressed.

Utah_CUtiger ur familiar w/the old idiom:
“You cant see the forrest for the Trees”?

I really think It would apply to you here w/just a little tweak:
“You cant see the Grove because you’re fricking STUPID”!

I was going to go to The Grove next Sunday, but based on this review, I am giving consideration to calling it off. Perhaps you didn't arrive early enough?

I'm fairly sure posted this as a "gotcha" to the Ole Miss people on the board.

Unfortunately for you, it makes you look like a fricking idiot.
