As did USC.
Going back into the past, Texas A&M and the Phoenix Cardinals both pushed Gene Stallings out the door before he averaged 10 wins a season at Alabama. Sometimes things just aren't the right fit. Kevin Steele did fairly well for us as the DC in 2008.

I don't want to defend Bama but I thought Steele was a pretty good DC. He did much better job of shutting down the Joe Burrow offense than Saban himself.

The Steele hire I like. Reese I don’t think we know enough. He’s going from working with Golson and others around his talent level to QBs that have far better talent. They just need development.
