It was an unnecessary and reckless trade. Sometimes you have to burn everything to the ground to build it better. If we ended up giving up 2 and 5 this year, that’s all the talk would be about and the heat would be turned up on joe. Well maybe not with Gayle.

We gave up #23 and #8 for #13 who is Top 8 in a redraft. One redraft has him at #8 and the other at #5.

You are arguing semantics. Did the Pels own the 2026 Pacers top 4 protected pick? Yes or no? Did that pick land at #5? Yes or no?

Did Dumars trade that pick just to get a pick in last years draft to move up for Queen? Yes or no?

He gave up #23 and #8 but it cost us #5 and #8 to obtain #13. You can argue till you blue in the face about what ifs with the Pacers pick. I could argue the same about our # 8 pick being higher if we didn’t have anything to lose since we didn’t own it. It cuts both ways. But on paper today, the ultimate cost to obtain Queen was #5 and #8….

Correct, I think blacks vote something close to or over 90% for a black candidate over a white one. Race is the most important factor to that group…

Wrong, that was Obama appointed Federal judge Shelly Dick that said they needed another black district.

The black political leaders that residents have elected have not fared well.

Teedy used the mayors office as her personal vacation club to visit every country and continent in the world and is now indicted.

Mr Chocolate city just got out of jail. William Jefferson was sentenced to 13 years. Broome looks like she’s headed to be indicted.

60 mins is wondering why Louisiana citizens stay away from black politicians? The results are slapping them in the face….

How did it work out for us? It only worked out for us if we made the playoffs. Many posters on here were saying this was easily a playoff team before the season. We were one of the worse teams in the league until the tanking teams really fired up the tank, while we were the only one trying to win. It’s the only reason we moved down.

Very good chance we keep the Pacers pick and our pick if the trade doesn’t happen. We effectively gave up two top ten picks for #13. That’s a bad return or just piss poor asset management anyway you slice.

If we gave the Hawks a pick in the teens, I’d say you have an argument, but that didn’t happen.

If you exclude AD/ Zion/ CP3 then here are the next best lottery picks the Pelicans have made in their ENTIRE FRANCHISE HISTORY:

Dyson just started on a playoff team and after his one year of starting won more post season accolades than any Pels player the last half decade, but he didn’t make your top 3?

How do you know we will get the 5th pick though?

I dont know, good chance it’d be better than 5. We were trying to win all year and was still getting beat by tanking teams and still picked 8.

I'd take the top 5 players in this class over Queen, as would everyone who isnt a fan of this team. But keep banging that drum. We all see you.

We’d have a top 5 pick, and the Pacers pick would probably still be around ten or twelve or higher than the pick we used on Queen. Dumars is an idiot and any one that says he’s a genius is an even bigger idiot….

Yes they purposely let Turner walk

This article says differently. The gm said he was blindsided by the move. Seems like they tried to play hardball and didn’t see any teams with capspace that wanted him. Bucks came out of no where after they waived Lillard. And Turner never gave them the option to match.

Even if we kept that pick, they still lose Turner, so they lost 2 of their best 3 players. They weren’t making the playoffs so it was going to be a lottery pick either way…

Yes geniuses trade picks while teams are still playing and lose exponentially more value on the pick once their best player goes down for the year..

Absolutely zero reason to pull the trigger on that trade till the season was over. Dumars is a sucker.

And if we had their pick, we’d be tanking b/c the trade doesn’t happen. And the Pacers pick is still likely top ten…

They started the year off as bad as us, were they tanking then ?

You preferred the guy that went before the Saints pick?

I’ll be happy to go bump the threads from the last few weeks, no one thought he was going that high. Lots of people were saying he would drop past our pick.

I’ve said I’d prefer Tate over Tyson and Lemon weeks ago. One because of injury history, the other looks like the next big diva.

What about the 5th pick? If you think we would have ended up at 8 while trying to win, then we would have the Pacers 5th pick.

Go bump the threads from the offseason, I said they were not going to be good and several people kept saying they were still a playoff team lol.

I think they can spend some money on him and keep him.

He’s our only all pro talent. He’s the same age as Shough and just entering his prime. He has a great rapport with him on the field. Better than any qb that I’ve seen him with his entire career to date.

The head injuries are worrisome no doubt, but you have to roll the dice on him. Hopefully he takes something close to around 30 a year. That’s more than what Jameson Williams got with Detroit. They have had similar production and were drafted next to each other.

that was 4 years ago, my guy. why are we acting this dude is currently falling apart?

This was in comparison to Lattimore. He didn’t have all the other injuries besides the hammy issues out of college is all I’m saying.

This one will be easy, it’ll be a great pick if he stays healthy and a really bad one if he continues to have injuries and doesn’t get on the field.

I preferred Tate b/c I think he’ll be good, and was the safer choice even though his ceiling won’t be as high. But he went much higher than anyone expected.

I know you're still butthurt about Dysons bad playoffs debut, but theres no need to spin anything. The Celtics were out. Like always out. It was always going to be the Lakers.

Maybe u still butt hurt from the Dyson vs Herb thread. Since it couldnt continue b/c only one player started in the playoffs…

You know how many teams still make trades after players refused to sign extensions then changed their minds. (Paul George, Donovan Mitchell) Celtics still put out an offer. Irving, AD and Hayward were gonna be their big 3. Tatum had some value but Brown was an after thought at the time.
