Schough was not going to last till round 3. We might have thought it was a reach, but most NFL guys had him at worst as the #3 QB prospect.
Wrong. The team with the two biggest qb needs drafted one in the first. The other team thst also needed a qb (Browns) passed on him three times already.
What other teams needed an immediate starting qb right now? He’s 26, so it’s that time already. Teams were drafting starters in the 2nd or looking to.
He may turn out ok, statistics are against him, but either way, it was a massive reach and poor draft value by our front office. They have proved over and over they have no clue about this.

Let's just say the Giants could've drafted Daniels if they really wanted to
If a team says no we not trading out of that spot. Then no they really couldn’t.
You saw what the jags just gave up for a non qb in a weak draft. Was a massive overpay. Think what it would cost to give up a franchise qb in that spot.
You said they passed on him and now trying to walk it back. Daniels was never an option for the Giants.

Goofball they were going to move up and draft him, if you watched Hard Knocks you would have known this.
They didn’t pass on him, and all 3 of the top teams said they were not trading out of those spots. NE was taking offers but were never serious, Daniels was still off the board by then.
So try again.

Is this right? If so that Dyson trade is looking worse by the minute. Tried to tell yall it wasn’t a good trade.
If we still suck, Hawks may end up with a really good pick in the 5-8 area.

Really wanted Burden but would have been happy with either of those two or Ezeriku

Saints shite the bed on day 2. Several guys at 40 and 71 I liked a lot better.
Maybe Shough turns out ok, but it was really stupid drafting him that high. At 93 or in the 4th round would have been way better value. If someone else takes him, no big deal, the qb class is way better next year.

You're gonna put those guys on traes level? They aren't close.
CJ made the WCF as the number two option at one time and the playoffs numerous years. Has Murray even made the playoffs as a number two option?
And I like how Murray’s numbers sucked on offense b/c he had to carry the load as you say, but DD has to work bye Ben harder on the other side for Traes historically bad defense. But that shouldn’t effect his numbers.
quote:
With our list of injuries he was the primary option a lot of the times on the court. He and CJ would have staggered minutes constantly.
So hes the number 1 option when the real number one and two options are on the bench getting breathers. Got it. That’s what I thought.
Guess he missed a bunch of shots during those short times he had to be the number one option dropping his fg% so low.

You conveniently left out the fact that it was only over 31 games, majority of which he was the primary option on offense and had nothing close to Trae Young to take the heat off of him?
So he played the majority of those 31 games this year with no CJ or Trey? And he was the first option over both of them ? Took more shots than either one majority of those games?
quote:
You think Dyson as the number one option can shoot 49%? Because i know he can't.
No im not. That’s not his job on the team. But if you gonna shite on his offense, put up all his numbers. If he hits a few more free throws a game, hes pretty much averaging what Murray is.

He's also an offensive liability who shot 34% from three and 59% from the stripe. I will not miss Dyson's spin move in the paint to nowhere.
You conviently left out his fg% this year which was 49%.
Murray was at 39% this year.

But like it or hate it. QB was a need
And this what separates the winning organizations from the losing ones. We seem to always draft for need instead of best talent available.
Its why we drafting where we are and the eagles and Ravens draft where they are.

It just screams need-based pick and thinking they HAD to have a QB this year in the draft, which screams they believe they're in win now mode, which is scary. We have to add that into the calculations/evaluations, too.
100% agree. They can’t see the forest through the trees. This draft needed to be about adding the most talented guys to a roster barren of talent at any position. And we failed miserably.
We were last in the division going in and I’d say every team in our division had a better draft. 4th round on, our draft was good. But we fricked up the top 3 rounds.

Todd McShay thinks the Rams might've drafted him later in the 2nd to succeed Matt Stafford
So he’d be pushing 30 by the time he succeeds Stafford. Doubtful….
And it’s the Browns. We are in real trouble if we are having to justify our picks based on if the Browns would have been stupid enough to draft him in the 3rd.
Loomis just trying to be the smartest person in the room again and I’m sure it won’t blow up in their faces like all the other times….

People that want to tank for Manning don’t actually watch college football. This place is becoming flooded with people that just want to type their feelings and get reactions rather than actual football fans.
Can you name a quarterback in history with the last name Manning that has sucked? I’d take my chances on those bloodlines before a 26 year old rookie with one year of starting experience ten out of ten times.

He's going to be 26 on game 1 and was drafted top-40, brother
I just still can’t justify this. This is where the Saints frick up every year. And it’s what separates the good teams from the bad ones. There were only a few teams that needed quarterbacks and two were already picked. So there was absolutely no rush to draft him this early.
I bet we could have traded down and picked up an extra second for next year and still got him. I woulda felt a lot better if we did something like that. No one was picking him in the 2nd round and we blew a top 40 pick in him.

Met Adrian Peterson the morning of the nfc championship game outside of a poboy shop off canal st hours before the game. My friend got a pic with him and after I told him he better hang on to the ball b/c we coming for it. He was having fumbling issues that entire year.
Think he fumbled twice in the game that ended up probably costing them the trip to the superbowl. Rest is history.
Also met Rosie ODonnel and Phoebe off Friends in Nola.

We got an all-NBA defender in the trade with an all-star appearance, a reasonable cost controlled contract, and he is a two-way player than can facilitate/score.
He wasn’t voted in as an all star, he was an injury replacement. His defense wasn’t really good with the Hawks. He made the all nba defensive 2nd team 7 years ago. That’s a lifetime ago in nba years.
DD was the runner up in DPOY voting, an award that usually only goes to big men. Only two wings have won it in the last 20 years. And he will likely be on the first team all nba defensive team.
Even without the injury to Murray, it’s doubtful any team would trade Dyson for Murray straight up now. Much less for the two extra picks Griff threw in. Another bad trade Griff made added to the list.

First year starter that has done things not seen since MJ and Scottie Pippen.
Not bad for a player that majority on here said wouldn’t be good enough to be in the rotation on a playoff team.

There is no other player in the league like Daniels, who routinely takes the best player on the opposing team while also playing his level of unbelievable help defense. His matchup difficulty is among the highest in the league according to BBall Index's database, and he's unique in his ability to get a ton of steals while focusing so much energy on stopping elite scorers.
