So after all that, LSU rostered NOBODY against SEC rules

In either football or basketball (Just like Will Wade said).
RJ Luis won't play for LSU
Just saying.
Here is a novel idea......maybe next time try and punish a school AFTER they actually break a rule.
Now go to work on things that actually help the conference.

Stankey and the Birmingham office have no clue what that means.

The only reason that is true is because the SEC filed the lawsuit.
If the SEC hadn't filed and threatened to kick LSU out of the conference, LSU would have rostered the players.

Which would have been done in accordance with injunctions like many teams across the country, including the SEC, have done and are in the process are doing. And the clarified rule was instituted after the injunctions were obtained by the players.

They had to make it look like they actually did something. They convinced folks like 3down10.

I wouldn't even say clarified. It was more like it was just made up after the fact.

They'll try it again next season.

Exactly! That's why they are still in trouble and where the whole "lack of institutional control" comes from. The absolute intent was there. And when the SEC said no, they kept pushing. LSU pulling a "we didn't do nuffin'" excuse.

It's always been the rule that you can't have pro players. It was just passed down from the NCAA rule rather than being an extra unneeded rule. So when the NCAA lost the suit, the SEC clarified they still had the rule in place regardless of the NCAA case.
It was also voted on by schools and passed 16-0.
So even if we claim there was no rule in place, it was for a total of 6 days.
And that was just the TRO. The actual ruling that made them legal didn't happen until after the statement.
I think if LSU hadn't brought the players to campus and had them in practice the SEC probably wouldn't have filed the lawsuit. But LSU was showing their intent moving forward by doing so.

It was about time somebody brought to light the bullshite going on, and if we had to take the hit, so be it.

That's because LSU bent the knee and kissed Sankey's ring. Now wait to see what shite tPear tries to pull.

I don't think I'd really have a problem with people declaring for the draft and then coming back directly after if they don't like where they ended up.
The NFL probably wouldn't like it, but frick em.
But after they sign contracts and such, you can't do it because it opens up signing actual pro players. And that is the real thing they want to prevent.

Then why are there a bunch of players with pro experience currently on rosters other than LSU's and it's no issue?
Again, this was done after the fact and only LSU's players were singled out. 70 lawsuits with over 400 athletes were made eligible. But, the two that LSU wanted were somehow different. It was bullshite then. It's bullshite now and it will always be bullshite no matter how anyone tries to spin it. Sankey got his arse handed to him in Louisiana court and now he is lashing out. He may actually be less mature than Kiffin.

The same can be said about playing any ineligible player. This includes 6th year players and other former pro players who were drafted and went to training camp or bball players that played in summer league(yes with a contract even though it wasn't a full NBA contract). There are rules against them all playing.
But only the ones that wanted to go to LSU got singled out.
