No college QB who won the game's award for being the best individual player should be below any QB who did not. Pretty straightforward.
Dumb argument. Each year is different and Manziel may have not won the Heisman during another year.

ETA:

For instance, AJ McCarron over Cam Newton is a complete joke. Brad Smith over Manziel? Not even worthy of discussion.
I agree with this though. I'm not sure Manziel should be as low as 35 but assuming he can play even close to how he played this past year then he will move up.

Hell. fricking. no. Jeezus Christ.

Cam, Tebow

Manziel

In the next two seasons that could change but right now no, you can't say Manziel is on a different level than Tim fricking Tebow.

Sure I can. Manziel is already a better passer than Tebow ever has been and almost certainly ever will be. Manziel is faster than Tebow and a better open-field runner. Most importantly, Manziel did what he did with significantly less talent around him.

Outside of a national title (a team accomplishment), there is no tangible measure by which Tim Tebow is or was a better football player than Manziel. Both player have a Heisman, and Manziel is a more gifted athlete from the QB position.

No way in hell is Aj is above Newton.

Put Newton in a Bama uniform, he still dominates. Put Aj in a Auburn uniform? Nah. No offense to Aj whatsoever because he has one of the best if not the best resume for a college quarterback, but his best play of the 2012 was a screen pass to Yeldon in the LSU game. I think that play is a great representation of his college career. Safe and conservative, give the ball to the superstar (TR, Yeldon), and then sit back and watch. Although he does have moments of shine (the pass to Cooper in the GA game comes to mind), there's no way he's a better quarterback than Cam Newton.

As I said in another thread, Cam Newton had a similar career to Barry Sanders at Oklahoma State. Both basically had one season careers. It's really hard to rank the careers of players like that.

Murray, but neither Wilson or Mallett. List is garbage.

That's debatable.

Exactly why Manziel should NOT be nearly as high as David Greene, Aaaron Murray, or Chase Daniel. Also, to have Cam not be in the top 5 is crazy.

David Greene at 31 is BS. 42 wins (was the NCAA record at the time), an SEC Championship, and is the SEC's all-time leading passer.

But it's not about wins. It's about running in circles and airing out the ball and such and such. These agnes fans are really something.

By their logic wouldn't Steve McNair be the greatest of all-time?

Its clearly putting a great deal of stock in a QBs college careers. If Newton had have been there for more than one year, he would probably be number 1.
exactly, and with all the shite that went on with him, only Auburn fans respect his time there.

As clearly evidenced by this thread.

I never thought anyone could give PEEJ a run for his money for the dumbest poster on this site but you are trying hard and getting real close. Congrats

But shouldn't Cam be behind Greene, Murray, and Daniel. His one year is the EXACT reason, right?

Tebow had superb defenses.

TAMU's 2012 defense ranked similarly to 2010 AU--giving up more yards and slightly less points.

Is this based on talent or production?

Jamarcus is 10x the talent of Aj
