We will absolutely have more fans at the game. By a wide margin.
Don’t give a frick. Worry about Texas lil bitch boi.
Texas is going 8-4.

Nope. You’re just gonna have to deal with it.
Should’ve stayed in CS and played for Elko. Can’t blame him for bolting though.
To be clear, I was ready for him to go. He failed at A&M. It was time.
But that’s not going to prevent me from recognizing how elite he was as a recruiter.
If he can adapt, and I’m not saying he can, the dude can be successful. Getting the dudes is the biggest part of winning in CFB. Again, it’s not everything. And as Jimbo proves if you can’t adapt or maintain a culture of discipline, you will crash and burn even with a roster of blue chippers.
All I’m saying is that in this specific environment, Auburn would be wise to give it some real thought.

Theyre signing top 5-10 classes now. Is Elko a top recruiter nationally too?
Elko is definitely getting it done in the NIL era. And now that he’s having success on the field he’s going to enter another level. Great for us.
Jimbo v Elko without NIL = Jimbo every time on the trail.
Jimbo v Elko coming off a ten win season = Jimbo every time on the trail.
There is no better closer.
Jimbo was flipping dudes from Bama in December before the NIL era.

But is that a reflection of him or their NIL program when they're recruiting at roughly the same level now based on rankings that they did when he was there?
He signed top 5 classes at A&M before the NIL era.

Again, even if he tops at 8-4, you just fire after year 3 and find a better option which will be more likely than finding one now.

He did well when A&M went "NIL" before NIL was really allowed. After that he was average
Not true. He recruited top 5-7 classes throughout his tenure at A&M and FSU before that.
Jimbo at Auburn is automatic top 10 classes every year.
To put a finer point on it: no sitting coach in the SEC is a better recruiter than Jimbo. That includes Kirby. Hell, there’s probably not a sitting coach in the country who’s better in the living room than Jimbo.
That alone puts you far along the path to success. Yes, of course that’s not everything, as Jimbo’s tenure at A&M proves. But if you assume he can correct what made him fail (stubbornness), then the guy can be aces again.

Jimbo was successful early at A&M. It then fell apart.
Guy always recruited at an elite level and would recruit similarly at Auburn.
It’s a three year project. He’s going to be motivated to get it right. Guy didn’t forget how to coach. He just refused to adapt. That is fixable.

People who brush this off or think it’s a stupid idea don’t understand how shite works.
There is a better than 50% chance that Jimbo could be successful at Auburn. And I am not trolling.

Jimbo to Auburn?

He’d probably crush it tbh. Certainly on the trail. And at minimum he gets them to 8-4, which is a step in the right direction. Bring him on for 3 years and if he tops out at 8-4 just fire him. By then you’ll probably have a realistic shot at a real upgrade.
With this cycle being so competitive and there being very few obvious upgrade candidates, this is a sensible move IMO.

We played Mizzou’s starting QB last year.
quote:
All games count … if the committee is serious Bama should be ahead of A@M ….. even with a loss… why because the best win A@M has is a 2 loss nd team…. A@M hasn’t played a single sec team in the top 25 .
But we didn’t lose to a bottom dweller team in the ACC.
If all games count, and they do, then you can’t credibly argue that Bama should be ranked ahead of an undefeated SEC team with a top 10 road win.
quote:
Not apples to apples . Miss state and Florida were at home for A&M. Plus Texas plays up and down to their competition . Mizzou last year was at home for you too
It isn’t apples to apples, I agree.
A&M is far better than last year when we beat the breaks off a 10 win Mizzou team.
quote:
Arch needed just one play to exceed Reed’s output in 60 minutes in the biggest game in aggie football history
Congrats on beating a team under a first year coach playing without its top two RBs and featuring little to no WR talent?
Keep telling yourself it’s the same. It’s going to get ugly. We’ll have a Kyle Field West before December 1.
quote:
you think we’re losing Arkansas? While mathematically possible, it’s unreasonable.
You needed a fluke miracle to beat MSU and a laughable coaching job by Stoops in OT to squeak by the worst team in the league.
Texas is not a good team.
Neither is Arky. But they have maybe the best offense in the SEC. And while their defense is bad enough for even Arch to march on same, you better hope Green isn’t feeling it.
Could easily see Arky hang 35+ on Texas in Austin.
