it's almost impossible to compete for a title in consecutive years.

Competing for a title?

Dude, we're the 3rd worst team in the conference
The Powerhouse of College Baseball can't do the fundamentals the last week of April

The Powerhouse of College Baseball is about to get swept 3 weekends in a row

I do like how we have people keep saying this is a "down year" though. 2024 was a down year. Idk what the frick this is

He’s earned a bad year for sure
However give it 3 straight years of this and you will really see the pitchforks

This is the right take

He obviously gets a pass this year, but not sure how we can't good players to come to LSU
quote:

Jay might be fired after this year if Tre Morgan (Paul recruit) doesn’t make an all time defensive play on the WF bunt and if the Arkansas shortstop turns a simple double play last year.

He’s going to finish year 5 without sniffing an SEC title, missing a postseason entirely, and only two regional hosts. Everything broke his way in the two years he had legitimately good teams and that’s saving his arse

I was burned the stake for making this thread yesterday

Good luck

Stop acting like you know baseball better than 2023 & 2025 national champion Jay Johnson

Every move he makes is the right move.

No it’s not. At all lol. Football and baseball are different beasts.

We consider ourselves the premier baseball program in the country, and we're not even good enough to make a 64-team tournament

There are down seasons and then there's this

This is beyond a down season

This is like Alabama football going 3-9 and a bunch of Bama fans telling others to stfu bc they win natties
Reading this thread and then the thread I made yesterday - it's like we have 2 completely different fanbases

Simply said I don't want to believe Johnson has to have elite MLB first round talent to make deep postseason runs, and the rant wants to burn me at the stake
quote:

So we've got one team that was objectively bad and then caught fire and won a national title.

Them and Coastal are the only teams that fit this mold in the last 20 years.

Do you not see how that invalidates your entire post?

Hey, you're the who told me to find a team who doesnt need a Paul Skenes/Kade Anderson quality pitcher to make it to Omaha, and I did exactly that lmao
quote:

*Directly compares Jay Johnson's national championships to Ed Orgeron's national championships*

No, I directly compared their years without a generational talent being MEH

Sorry you can't read

But I will give you props. You've been raging like a little angry retard in multiple thread all season trying to convince people this isnt a bad baseball team. Keep fighting the good fight

Go find me a team that's won a title in the last 10 years without an MLB quality pitcher.

Ole Miss's highest draft pick was taken 170th, 6th overall

quote:

Do you think Ed O could have taken the football equivalent of Arizona to the championship?

Hell no

Jay Johnson is the ten times the coach Ed Oregon is. That's not the point of the thread

It's just that is this year the product we have to come to expect when we don't have a Skenes/Anderson?

quote:

A team without great players usually won’t win championships.

Brother, nobody expected a championship this year.

We're not even gonna make a regional
quote:

Then, he won another national title

Yep, with Kade Anderson, the pitcher in the title of the thread

Now here we are without a MLB quality pitcher and about to miss the postseason and can't field groud balls the last week of April
quote:

4 trips to Omaha

We've been to Omaha twice in his 5 years

Those 2 times with the pitchers in the thread title.

Almost like that was the point
quote:

I thought your first post was bad, then you doubled down

To be fair, I said I don't want to believe it :dunno:

I surely hope we don't need a Paul Skenes/Kade Anderson top 3 MLB pitcher on roster to make deep runs in Omaha

Not sure how thats a crazy take

The 2024 sucked arse and 2026 team is unwatchable. Feel free to disagree.
quote:

Please quote it. All I said is that they hadn’t made the tournament in 4 straight seasons until Jay’s 1st season.

It was 3 seasons - 2013, 2014, 2015

And Johnson is obviously a good coach, but there's no need to act like he's a miracle worker who turned a bottom tier baseball program around. Arizona is a top program who was in a year 3 slump.
quote:

how many teams make the playoffs in football compared to baseball? Idiot.

Pal, you're the one who made Arizona, who has the 6th most NCAA tournament appearances of all time, to be some bottom of the barrel baseball program.
quote:

Earth shouldn't have to share its resources with retards like you.

That's your reply to me saying Jay Johnson's pitching moves this game have been pretty bad?

Do you not agree with that statement?

Has Jay Johnson made good pitching decisions this season?
Yes or no

I feel like im taking crazy pills talking to some of you
