The Southern Miss game was moved for Alabama.

Game was finally played in a monsoon in late November at Legion Field.

9/11 fricked up our Natty run that year.

9/11 probably cost Florida a Natty.

They beat Tennessee if the game was played as scheduled. I liked Florida's chances of beating Miami.

That 01 Miami team was overrated.

Now that’s a hot take. They are generally considered of the best of the modern era. Along with 1995 Nebraska.

I have a hard time believing UF beats Miami that year.

I believe SC@MSU played the first D1 football game after 9/11.

I recall Bush having a speech that started sometime at halftime. My parents and I watched it through and didn't turn the game back on until it was over.

One of the greatest teams of all time.

I’d put them in the same tier as 2019 LSU.

Miami would've beat Florida by at least two touchdowns in 01.

01 Miami played an average to easy schedule. They struggled to beat two 8-4 teams and only beat one team that finished in the Top 10, which was an overrated Nebraska team.

Even Florida St, who is usually a good win for Miami, was average and went 8-4.

That Miami team had a lot of players drafted, but what that Miami team did on the field is far from one of the greatest teams of all time.

That Miami team wouldn't have even won the SEC that year. Tennessee and Florida had better teams in 01 then Miami.

State was scheduled to play BYU that week. It was rescheduled until the end of the season. BYU ended up being unbeaten and was playing for a BCS spot. The worst officiated game ever in college football history with the Mountain West officials in Starkville.

The next week, we had a Thursday game with South Carolina scheduled, that happened to be the first football game played after 9/11. It was a hard fought defensive game, Carolina won 16-14.

This Team isn't remembered for their on field play...They're considered GREATEST of ALL TIME bc of the Draft and NFL careers...

Only two teams stayed within three TDs of them.

Yeah I think Florida or Tennessee could have beaten Miami if they brought brought their A game. Tennessee's roster was just stacked

That's what is so laughable about 01 Miami

Look at their season, look at the teams they beat...They were the best team to play a schedule full of 8-4 teams lol

What exactly was so great about them? Not saying they weren't good, but they've become better over time due to NFL careers...

Don't look at the NFL draft...Don't look at the NFL careers... or HOF players...Just focus on that season...

Better than 04-05 USC?
Better than 05 Texas?
Better than the best Bama teams since 09?
Better than 19 LSU?

I'm not saying they weren't a good team, but they aren't considered GREATEST for their on field play...

Penn State 5-6
Rutgers 2-9
Pitt 7-5
Troy 7-4
FSU 8-4
West Virg 3-8
Temple 4-7
BC 8-4
Syracuse 10-3
Washington 8-4
Vtech 8-4
Nebraska 11-2

Impressive schedule

If LSU/Clemson/Bama went undefeated against that schedule..should they be remembered as the Greatest of All Time?

When they were on their game, they were amazing. They beat ranked teams in two straight weeks by a combined score of 125-7. That is a ridiculous stat. They ran roughshod over Nebraska in one of the least competitive title games of the BCS era. They were also one of the 3 most talented teams to ever step on a college football field. The only reason they aren't the unanimous GOAT is because Larry Coker was their HC and he held them back. If Butch Davis had waited another year to leave, no one would have come within 20 points of 2001 Miami, IMO.

Also, in regards to OP, I believe 2001 Florida was Spurrier's best team.
