That LSU defense held Bama to 5 fgs until 6 min left in the 4th and that was with the offense going 4 and out 98% of the time.

I get what you are saying, but in the championship game Alabama out gained LSU 393 total yards to 118 total yards.
Alabama had 21 first downs to LSU's 5.

In the first game, Alabama had 301 total yards to LSU's 242.

Both had great defenses and great teams.

I hate rematches

1996 Florida-FSU rematch was only possible, because undefeated Arizona State played in the Rose Bowl due to their PAC-10 tie in.

Had that been BCS era, Arizona State and Florida State would’ve played for all the marbles, while Florida would’ve been sent to the Sugar Bowl to face some at large team

Because Les Miles for whatever reason wouldn’t play Jared Lee. He was scared of Lee throwing interceptions. During that season; when Jefferson was hurt Lee led the conference in some of the quarterback functions, but as soon as Jefferson came back, Miles waited and the interception he yanked Lee who never played another meaningful down until the very end of that game. Not saying it would have changed the outcome, but Lee had more than earned the right to play in that game. Because of this and other rumors surrounding that game the team quit on him

2007 UGA should have gotten an opportunity. Not saying it wouldve been 100% a win but LSU wouldn’t have won by 3 TDs like they did over Ohio St.

966 Alabama (laughable snub)

1974 Alabama (no probation, tough schedule, played and lost extra game)

1975 Alabama (lost early, deserved a split)

And if 1974 Alabama didn’t deserve their title due to record, then 1993 Auburn did

Let me know if I missed anybody

You missed '77 and '45 for BAMA.

'66 is by far the worst though. After Green Bay won the Super Bowl Lombardi was asked how it felt to be the best team in the world and he responded "I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet."

'66 and '77 would have been involved in 3'peats as well.

They lost badly to Tennessee and lost to .500 SC. They didn’t deserve an opportunity any more than Missouri that year

When it comes down to summarizing LSU fans with one sentence, wadewilson’s sentence above is the sentence

With multiple claims such as 1941 under your belt, Bama fans have less than zero room to talk. I am amazed that after many legitimate NCs, you guys are still so insecure, you claim more NCs that are more bogus than the guy trying to claim 2011. You can say what you want about LSU fans because one of us wants to claim 2011. Difference is, most of us know better but the entire Bama fan base does not know better with the multiple bogus Bama NCs.

Sit down now dumbass

Meh. I have mixed feelings about them. I mean, the best team does not always win, so if a lesser team wins the first game, or they win by some outlier fluke, it gives a better team an opportunity to right a wrong. Besides...I always felt 4 teams was enough for the playoff system. When people called for a 12 team playoff (and now a16+ playoff) they open the door for even more rematches.

I would argue that it should have. Just as i would argue that Michigan should not have been allowed their title. The problem is that the NCAA said that Auburn was ineligible.

I am not arguing that they were correct. I am only arguing that if you are caught cheating, you should not be awarded a title.

Yes Jim Simpson and Merlin Olsen have said during the game that if this score holds up then Arkansas has a claim.

However the biased Associated Press picked Notre Lame as number one, Alabama two and Arkansas three.

Let's claim that bitch.

Based on how some schools claim NC’s, we definitely should claim ‘77. We were selected as co-champs in a three-way split (which is admittedly dumb) by Rothman who was, at the time, a major-selector.

That counts. I was a young'un but weren't we #4 and decimated #2 Oklahoma while #6 Notre Dame beat #1 Texas and jumped us? No way that happens under any serious ranking system. The SWC was strong at that time.

And only losing to Texas 9-13 and an egregious no call on a blatant facemask on Ron Calcagni, I think, leading to a FG instead of TD. That team had some talent and some coaching. Lou Holz, Pete Carroll, Monte Kiffen.

Nobody deserves a national championship that they don't already have, but for fun and with your "tough schedule", "snub" comments, 2008 Texas (as a split).

#1 Florida's only loss was to 9-4 Ole Miss at home. #2 Texas's only loss was to 11-2 Texas Tech on the road.
UF and UT both won BCS bowl games. We both beat OU by 10 at a neutral site.

And Ole Miss blew the doors off Texas Tech at a neutral site.

Alabama fans need to realize three things about that season...

1) George Wallace made voters outside the south hesitant to vote for Bama and it cost them.

2) Bama did not play a single ranked team during the season while ND played four and Michigan State played two. (And they played each other)

3) The Hype for the Michigan State- Notre Dame game dwarfed anything that had ever happened before. It went on for weeks and it was the first "Game of The Century". Alabama was just forgotten amidst all that hype.

I do think that if they had had an after Bowl poll... Bama might have won it. They beat #6 Nebraska while Michigan State sat at home due to the Big 10's "no repeat" Rose Bowl Policy and Notre Dame sat at home because they had a "No Bowl" policy.

Bama had the spotlight all to themselves on NY day and they absolutely thrashed Nebraska. I truly think they might have won it had there been another vote.

2012 Aggies would have given Bama more of a game than the Domers did.
