I think the SEC felt like they had to do this to show they still have the power unfortunately it looks like that might have just increased LSU nil with a counter lawsuit coming

Classic petulant child challenging their parent’s authority.
What has made the SEC the most powerful Conference is now injuring itself. Whoever wins we all are losers.

I would say Kiffin's best interest is the same as the program's at this point.
