I never would've guessed they were this close, based on general perception

Y'all have to remember Stoops came in 2013 and inherited a team with a MAC roster, the first two seasons you need to write off as he took big losses but also had a great 2014 recruiting class that started changing direction of the team

His first season he went 2-10 then 5-7 the following 2 seasons. He has had a lot of 7-6 seasons since and 2 10 win seasons

I have to admit, it is absolutely ridiculous that Kirby Smart has only been at UGA seven years and is coming off a 29-game winning streak and two consecutive NCs and he still has a lower winning percentage than Saban, who has been at Bama 17 years now.

I think a coach needs a minimum of 3 SEC seasons to be allowed on this list.

Gus Malzahn's .688 at Auburn would be ranked 6th on the list.

Tuberville's .680 at Auburn would also be ranked 6th on the list but would be behind Malzahn if both were on the list.

Freeze at Ole Miss was .609 and including his single season at Auburn has a total win percentage of .584 as an SEC head coach.

Kinda interesting....

Because you’re running out of Orgeron’s players

Not sure why it surprises you. Both Kirby and Saban had a rough first year at their school then began building machines. Saban has had more seasons since his machine was built to erase his first season. Smart needs to run a few more seasons through to fully erase year 1.

something you'd never see anyone say with a straight face except on this board.

LSU ran out of Orgeron's players while Orgeron was still the coach.
