LSU might beat Vandy
That might be the only sec win unless there is a fluke win where LSU hits a ton of threes
No margin for error with this team and they won't rebound well either and the interior defense is non existent

Then your first SEC game against Tennessee should be a good marker of whether you’ve got a pretty good team or enjoyed the benefit of scheduling.

I don’t see anyway there isn’t co-champs this year for Regular Season Champs. I can see multiple teams having 3/4 losses in conference and some teams getting some sneaky good wins. I can see Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn squeaking in there. IMO jury is still out on Ole Miss due to their schedule, but they’ve got a shot at making some noise. And South Carolina is just quietly hanging out there too. Too convoluted to call at this point IMO.

SEC Tourney: Alabama

SEC POY: Reed Sheppard

Regardless of schedule strength, being 13-0 is impressive.

Current SEC Strength of Schedule Rankings (as of 1/5/24):

3. Alabama
5. Tennessee
8. aTm
35. Florida
37. Kentucky
39. Auburn
41. Arkansas
59. Missouri
64. Miss St.
94. Georgia
109. LSU
115. Ole Miss
122. South Carolina
157. Vanderbilt

Ok...maybe not super impressive.

Excited about the start UF has had. Golden has done some nice work this year. Big opportunity vs UK this Saturday

Here is how Torvik projects things:

1. Alabama 14-4
2. Tennessee 13-5
3. Auburn 13-5
4. Texas A&M 11-7
5. Kentucky 11-7
6. Florida 11-7
7. Mississippi St 10-8
8. Ole Miss 8-10
9. S Carolina 8-10
10. Arkansas 7-11
11. Georgia 7-11
12. Missouri 6-12
13. LSU 6-12
14. Vanderbilt 2-16

I think all these prognosticators (Lunardi, Rothstein, etc) currently projecting 9 SEC teams in the field are way off. We’re a 6 bid league… 7 max.

If I had to pick now:

Regular season champ: Tennessee via tie-breaker over beating Auburn head-to-head

SEC Tournament champ: Auburn

NCAA Tournament:

Left out, but on the bubble: Ark, OM, MSU
1st round- Florida, Texas A&M
2nd round- Bama, Kentucky
Sweet 16- Tennessee
Elite 8- Auburn

I’ll say this about Auburn. We are arguably the deepest team in the country and that can often bode well for March. Our 6-10 could start and be middle-of-the-pack in the SEC.

There aren’t any superstars, but still loads of talent. I think we are a balanced team that could make a very deep run.

Auburn has no NBA player on the team…you need a stud to make a run in the tournament.

I want to believe. But a struggling Kugel, bouts of cold shooting, and free throw troubles are keeping my expectations at bay.
