Fact: In 2 years at LSU, Will Wade has won more SEC Championships and has been to more Sweet 16’s than the Arkansas basketball program has in the last 20+ years.

Fact: This isn't about Arkansas.

There is not a bigger Will Wade Fan than I but to say there aren't 8 coaches in the country better than Will Wade is absurd.

To put that in perspective that would mean if Will Wade retired today that he is automatically in the hall of fame.

LOL at Oats being so low. Dude took Buffalo to the Tourney twice. Something they had never done.

Y’all’s logic...since Stools had UK 10-3 last year...he is considered one of the top 8 coaches in the country? Don’t be silly

Not sure how you can even rate Stackhouse when he hasn't yet coached his first college basketball game.

Technically, it was the interim coach that took LSU to the Sweet 16, not Wade.

forgot about this

I really like Musselman but could see having him a few spots lower since he hasn’t coached an SEC game yet

It’s funny to label a coach with a .672 W/L% with only 3 visits to the NCAA and a 3-3 (really 1-3...giving 2 wins last year) record as a top 8 coach in the nation?

The thread is about top coaches in the SEC, not the nation. Some other poster brought up nation. Not sure why you replied to me.

Yeah it's way too early to put him that high nationally. He's in the conversation for top-25 nationally and top 3-4 SEC, but the "Smart" thing really muddies the waters. And it makes me a little sad that he put himself in that position because he's so talented as a leader he could win without the extra stuff.

Kermit at 12 seems low, but the league is pretty stacked top to bottom

Barnes is the most under appreciated coach of the last 20 years.

If he wasn’t at Texas he’d be treated like a top 5 coach.

I like to think Cuonzo is better than 13th out of 14 coaches, but I look at this list and realize how stacked the SEC is with coaching. Really impressive from top to bottom.

I love WW as our HC, but I'll let him coach a few more years before I lable him a great one.

Folks can rank Wade anywhere they want. I also believe that Wade will have LSU in the top 4 of the SEC most years. When he has accomplished that, he'll make everyone's top 4 HC in the SEC list.
