With hoops about to start up let's take a look at the current SEC basketball coaches ranked by a very knowledgable hoops website.

In 2015 Howland took over a program that was just above the 200s in KPI that had sunk as low as below the 300s.
In 4 years he made it a top 25 KPI team which is huge. He got us out of the hole and I am not sure many coaches could have done that.
Now we are a competitive SEC Basketball team, and since no one cares about football anymore here, watch out, our basketball home court advantage is coming back

There aren’t 8 coaches in the country better than Will Wade much less the crap coaches in the SEC with the exception of Cal and he isn’t that much better

2-16 to SEC regular season champions.
I’m not sure how a coach can prove himself much better than that.

Umm, we made the sweet 16.
Last I checked that was pretty dang good.

I agree that Wade is too low on the OP's list. However, Calipari and Barnes are the obvious #1 and #2 coaches in the SEC.
And 5 of the coaches ahead of Wade on the list have at least Final Four experience. Wade's ranking seems to be a product of his youth.
