Mountain South division Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Vandy

Seaport South Division LSU, Florida, UGA, SCar?

Geographically I'm with you 100% but that "mountain south" schedule is way too easy.

You're essentially giving Tennessee 3 free wins barring catastrophe or the good Mizzou team we see once every 10 years show up.

Somethings gotta change there. Maybe swap Vandy for either ole miss or Scar? or maybe do a more complex switch between a few divisions.

I also think Bama vs LSU has to go in this model. It's not a traditional rivalry. As an Alabama fan I want to play more teams than just the old sec west + Tenn, and having one more tied up game every year than everyone else prevents that. It also prevents bama from EVER getting a good schedule draw. When they'll be many years that the rest get good draws. Super unfair.

Make those two changes and I think thats perfect.

Just go with a rotating schedule. No permanent anything. It's never going to work with permanents in the mix.

How would you split the divisions

Put OU in the East with Texas as cross division rival. Every important game is preserved this way.

Use a rotating 8 game schedule with no permanents. You will play one of these teams in consecutive years. If a rivalry game means that much to your team and they are not on the schedule that year, schedule it as a non-conference game. Very easy fix.

The solution is four pods divided into two divisions annually.

Year One: A+B vs. C=D
Year Two" A+C vs B+D
Year Three: A+D vs. B+C

You could rotate through the schools fairly quickly and get a real SEC Championship game winner.

Also, no team should ever have to play more than two 11:00 am games.

If we went to divisions (while retaining rivalry games), I would like this format for the divisions:

Georgia
Florida
LSU
A&M
Ole Miss
Miss St
Kentucky
Mizzou

Alabama
Tennessee
Texas
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
Auburn

I think those divisions would be relatively equal

plus Greg Sankey’s refusal to even attempt a fix... that make it clear he needs to go.

Ditto plus his terrible decision to have the same schedules for back to back years? Unreal.

Every suggestion in these threads get stupider and stupider.

Pods, 3-5, 7-1, it’s all dumb. The real solution was to never expand the quality conference we had to include 4 Big 12 teams but nobody can change that.

We should not have expanded the conference, but the damage is done.

You can agree that we need a better format going forward, no? The current system is a fricking joke. The current system will continue to have teams get the easy street (Texas) while others (UGA, Florida) get screwed. The scheduling is too unbalanced

I'd be okay with this.

Would stink not being able to play Tennessee every year, but its the only way to be fair..

I know it will never happen, but...

TSIO is historically more significant to Bama than the Iron Bowl

DSOR is also historically more significant to UGA than tWLOCP

I'd rather sell y'all keep TN & us keep AU

again; I Know that won't happen; but it would be my preference...

A non-conference game against a team in your own conference would never fly

this would actually be awesome

would be better if UF & AU could be perms; but we can't have everything - this looks really good

I still don’t get why people don’t want the 9 game sec schedule with 3 permanents.

If the new playoff deal in 2026 goes to 16 and the SEC is guaranteed 4 spots like rumored, they should absolutely do it.

For the life of me I don’t know why fans like the late Nov FCS game. Did yall forget how awesome the Covid 10 straight sec games were?

I anticipate the conference going 1-7 and it will be awful. I don’t trust Sankey at all.

This doesn’t need to be over-complicated…Should be a 3-6 format. Three permanents, 6 rotating. Would play rotating opponents each twice ever four seasons, once at home and once away. Works perfectly.

Alabama- AU, TN, MSU
Arkansas- TX, OM, LSU
Auburn- AL, UGA, VAN
Florida- UGA, OU, SC
Georgia- FL, AU, SC
Kentucky- MIZ, MSU, TN
LSU- OM, A&M, ARK
Ole Miss- MSU, LSU, ARK
Miss St- OM, AL, UK
Missouri- UK, OU, A&M
Oklahoma- TX, MIZ, FL
South Carolina- UGA, VAN, FL
Tennessee- AL, VAN, UK
Texas- OU, A&M, ARK
Texas A&M- TX, LSU, MIZ
Vanderbilt - TN, SC, AU

Nope. That would be total shite.

A&M should play Texas, Arkansas, and LSU every year.

Texas should play A&M, OU, and Arkansas every year.

Arkansas should play A&M, Texas, and LSU every year.

etc etc etc.

IDGAF if it creates unbalanced schedules or if some teams might need more or less permanent rivals than others. Rivalries are a major driver of this sport and to do away w/having some of them every year just b/c scheduling might be a bit of a pain in the arse for some overpaid shithead in the SEC office is too bad, so sad.
