SEC Predictions for tournament

Posted by rolltideroyalty on 3/20/25 at 2:38 pm
According to Espn only 34% of brackets have an SEC team winning despite having 4/8 top seeds...

Seems low, but I get the Duke Hype...

How many Sec teams in final 4... elite 8.. Sweet 16?

Found myself not having enough SEC representation in may first bracket so I scrapped it and made another.

How many do y'all think...

I also think mizzou has an easier path so I got em going far for their seed *knocks on wood*

Thoughts?

Is Auburn cursed?

Seems like Harvey Updykes poison really ruined more than those ugly trees. Even in their best season, in a relevant sport since the incident they still find a way to lose on senior night to big brother.

I hope not.. I wanna lose the next game and rest, 2 seed is good enough
Never thought I'd see Mark Twain on the rant.

Football season can't come soon enough... lol
I would like that too, but they have too many good backs and they need DEFENSE.

WE GOT A GAME.... This one's going to be high scoring!
NFL Midthrow would average 4/12 on completions with all of the completions being interceptions.

Those linebackers and Ends are a lot faster in the NFL so his rushing ability going to take a big hit as well (especially since he doesn't get his yards from extending plays, its only designed runs).

I don't even want him on My favorite XFL team, whatever round he is taken, 1-7, he will be the worst player picked in that round. I wouldn't even take him as a practice squad running back, doesn't even know how to protect the ball when he runs.
In their college careers, give me

Johnny manziel
Eddie Lacy
Reggie Busch
Tayvon Austin
Dorial green-beckham

OVER

Tom Brady
Raheem Mostert
Laggarate Blount
Julian Edelman
Tyreek Hill

In the NFL... not so much

bad list but they're are many more... and an even greater amount that were decent in one league but amazing in the other or Vice versa..

So don't give me this NFL stats for college arguments, and at least there will be logical debate.

y'all get the point
quote:

combination of jealousy because LSU will have GOAT status forever and Bama is now burnt

Always with the drama this guy...

All I hear from LSU fans about their 19 team is how well there players are doing in the NFL.... (forgetting bama has the same thing)

BUT, its irrelevant, Show me college stats... Tom Brady might be the best quarterback ever, but you can't tell me he was better than Tebow in college. They're are a million examples....

NFL success shouldn't be factored in any college debate. DeVonta smith was better than Chase and Jefferson combined, but LSU PPL try and say they had the better Wr's as if Waddle Metchie and the Heisman winner didn't exist a thing... It Crazy talk.

If Joe burrow was a bust, would that mean he was never good in college?

I'm sick of this NFL evidence in a college debate. It makes zero sense.

This is NOT pate state material.

Mizzou money spends just as well as "blue blood" cash, and that's just the way it is now.

Where is this coming from?

Is Sam Horn Going to win you games? Or maybe that bum transfer from Penn station.. :rotflmao:

I won $500 from a midzou friend of mine this year, buddy talked to much crap all year, so I made him give me even Odds on it. All to not even score a point.

I just don't understand you guys... but hey any of y'all wanna give me those odds on next years game? :rotflmao:
All that to lose to Fairleigh Dickinson round 1
No one is worse than a Tennessee fan
yawn

BWalker and that other fat Tennessee homer don't like Bama and auburn...

Shocker

This years National champ might be the worst in 10+ years. This is crazy talk

We either need to count out-of-conference games in SEC standings

Then EVERY game would count for ALL conferences.

With that logic, play all non - conference against “rent a wins” & go undefeated.

I welcome disagreement, but you have to understand what I'm saying first.
Go back and read that post I made.

To clear it up.. I said If and only if The CFP bids are guaranteed by conference standings, which is what we are moving towards (AKA 5 b10 , 5 SEC, 2 Other conference winners....So No at large bids), and yes this would force ND to officially join the ACC...

So, if they are fully guaranteed. It won't matter what if the SEC beats itself up, because you're getting the same number in from your conference regardless. AND in that world, they would pick the highest 5 highest teams from SEC standings..... so you very well could have a team thats undefeated in conference play, but has lost 2 out of conference games.. make the playoff over a team that has only lost one game, but it was a conference game... SO to prevent that you would HAVE TO go to an ALL CONFERENCE-schedule, but out of conference rivalries, exist.. so to preserve these non-con rivalries... you mandate that every team must schedule 1 out of conference game and you mandate that, it is a power 4 game. AND you add it to the Winn loss record for conference standings.

B/C if you don't than we'll see teams getting in over other teams that have a worse W/L record. and even more often we'll see teams get favorable seeding over teams just because that teams loss came out of the conference... THINK 2022 LSU... many other examples, but thats the most recent.

AGAIN, I am not in favor of this. I think all CFP bids should be at large and if thats the case look at what I said for the at large model.

But a fully guaranteed playoff is coming and when it does, out of conference games will become meaningless... So we get rid of all but 1.. Keep non-con rivalries with that 1 game and COUNT IT.

What format are you suggesting?

quote:

If we stay in a format with at large bids...We keep 8 Games.. 2 Perm rivalries and remaining 6 are computer generated. With each team being graded by winning % over last 3 years... So every team gets a relatively even random draw.

If they're going to guarantee all the bids we should move to 11 games make 1 out of conference power 4 game mandatory and include it into SEC rankings( so out of conference rivalries still exist).

With 11 games we can do Tri states pods
quote:
ALA - AUB, MSU, UTK
ARK - LSU, OM, UTA
AUB - ALA, UGA, UV
UGA - USC, AUB, UF
UF - UGA, UK, UTK
UK - UF, MIZ, MSU
LSU - ARK, TAMU, OM
MSU - OM, UK, ALA
MIZ - OU, UK, USC
OM - MSU, LSU, ARK
OU - UTA, MIZ, TAMU
USC - UGA, UV, MIZ
UTA - OU, TAMU, ARK
UTK - ALA, UV, UF
TAMU - UTA, LSU, OU
UV - AUB, UTK, USC

and then use the winning % based random draw for the remaining 8 games

Problem solved

I posted ^ on this thread already
This you??

quote:

Of course it's a Bammer whining about "muh schedule needs to be completely fair at all times" as if every single rival you have is always going to be good.

You're such a clown... only person talking like that is you.

Similarly, The only person advocating for a system WITHOUT fair scheduling is you.

I mean seriously that's the whole point of this thread. How outlandish of me to advocate for a system of fair scheduling.. Such a hot take....

Y'all get Arkansas every year in Jerry world. Stop acting like we are the ones trying to get the easy draw.
