Does his name hurt a fair evaluation of his play, or does a fair evaluation of his play hurt his name?

I think we all know the answer.

I don’t think anyone would be praising Joe Smith for throwing a game-losing pick 6.

Does it work against him sometimes? Yeah. But, you can’t use your name off the field for endorsements and not expect extra criticism on the field for it. To Arch’a credit, I think he gets that.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve heard today. He wouldn’t be in the SEC. His entire recruiting rank was based on his name and that he was MVP of the Manning QB Academy. So basically he was the best QB because the previously creditable Mannings told you he was. No tape against real competition.

It’s not what he actually believes.

Sark knows manning is struggling and isn’t moving the offense in the way he wants.

What’s he supposed to say, “the media hyped this kid unfairly (true) and we took him because we wanted the recruiting bump (true) and I figured I could turn him from a low 4 star to a true 5 star because I’m one of the best offensive minds in the game (true).”

Most over hyped QB coming out of HS of all time. I'm sure he's a good kid, but nothing I've seen from his play, makes him special among his peers.

If Arch played with the passion and intelligence that Gunner Stockton has shown this year, he actually would be a top 5 pick and Heisman contender.

Funny how that works...

If his name was Joe Smith, he would be one of the worst QBs in the SEC. Comparable to whoever UTk trots out.

Sark's shitty play calling, qb development, and refusal to let him audible has far more to do with it.

I honestly hope he transfers after the season kicks arse in 2027 and drives the stake through the vampires heart.

Sark is as overrated as Manning-Texas deserves them both.

Sark is quite possibly the stupidest HC to ever coach at this level.

Hold on now. Ed Orgeron was at this level and would like a word (wouldn’t be able to understand it but a word, none the less).

I think Arch is a pretty good athlete and a sub-par passer. He would have been good in a Dan Mullen read-option offense because he can pass well enough to at least keep a defense from loading the box. He's no Tebow or Prescott. He's more of a Nick Fitzgerald type
that isn't well suited for the offense Sark is trying to run.

Blame the last Name game if you like.I agree what others have said about All the advantages vs Joe average QB.
NO kid in recent memory has had the amount of professional guidance Arch has enjoyed. How about the "Manning benies 2.5 to 4.5 paid indorcements, and that's before you add up his NIL payments??

Here's a stat I learned (although I'm a native of New Orleans) that sure suprised me.Newman HS (ARCH'S) annual cost are just 30,000.00 poor Arch !

He’s not a bad QB, he just played against a top rated defense which isn’t easy. Ask Peyton when he played the Pats

I agree with Sark on this. Arch is a very good passer. The OU defense just played well and forced two interceptions…..

I agree, I should have said that’s what sark thinks in his head. He’s good at schemes not great at game management and flow of game script
