And didn't finish the job with LSU.
Seriously though along with going it alone on the LSU debacle and all the dumb shite he has done to frick the conference, he should be let go now.
No resignation but rather fired and left on the tarmac.

He sucks and fun posting aside I’m glad the rest of the conference is starting to see it too
Haven’t been a fan of him since the 9-game swap started to hurt us all in the playoffs, but he really cranked the bs up this year

Welcome to the dark side!

Never was a Sankey fan, all he had going for him is being slightly better than the fraud Brett Yormark running the Big 12.
That said, never really wanted him fired until he caved in on the 24 team playoff. Once the numbers are run there will be pushes for further playoff expansion and we need someone who will say enough is enough.

When did that happen? Seems like the "extra loss" argument is offset by the expansion to 24 teams.

He's an employee doing what the member presidents are telling him to do.

I'm sorry to tell you but we were never really going to be voted out of the SEC. It was all a bluff. He knew it, we knew it and we called him on it. That's why you have everyone saying that he should be fired. You lose credibility when you bluff without being able to back it up

Yup. The 24 team playoff and the terrible ESPN deal is his undoing. frick that clown.
We need to find out how we can influence his firing.

Posting again because I’m fricking pissed.
Greg Sankey should be dragged out of his office, tarred, feathered, and sent back to New York with Mamdani where he belongs. The fact that this guy still has a job is one of the most Atlas Shrugged meets reality moments I've ever seen, and we've had a boatload of those recently.
These elitist assholes continue to shove their unremarkable phalluses into our collective face and tell us to take it with a smile. "You will have your 24-team cracker stale NFL-style playoff where half the seats are full because nobody can afford to go to 20 games but rich boosters can feel free to buy their way in any particular year with hired mercenaries at their 5th school.... AND YOU WILL LIKE IT."
He has overseen the ruination not only of the conference but the entire sport. I'd love to sit here and enumerate the decisions he's made that a chimpanzee would avoid - this being the latest - but I don't have the time or space. The fact that he's allowed to oversee what was one of the great cultural institutions of the South as a corporatist oligarch Yankee shows how far we as a people have fallen. We have been humiliated by him and others, yet he remains the head of the SEC. It takes some kinda talent to frick up what he inherited. Now he can't be stopped until the entire sport has its soul sucked from it by the corporate fangs of greed.
This doesn't stop until the fans say enough. A good start would be waiting outside the SEC headquarters in Birmingham.
Let me know when y’all wanna meet up. We can set aside our differences and come together on this douchebag.

Well our member presidents must be fricking retarded if they are directing what Sankey is doing.
9 game schedule, no CCG, shite TV deal, proposing limiting intraconference transfers....

Then keep doing it again and again until they get the message. The fans run this shite. Let them know it.
These CFB retard elites will manifest a movement similar to the reformation. Let it begin, the College Football Reformation

ha, that's funny.
playoffs will be a ratings bonanza. ticket prices will continue to rise and stadiums will be full.
these presidents don't give a frick about anything but money and every move Sankey has made (at their direction) will result in a shite ton of it falling into their laps

I still can’t understand how it never occurred to anyone that the conference championship games could have been saved, and even enhanced, by incorporating them into the college football playoffs. I mean, look at the NFL, what games decide who plays in the Super Bowl? It’s the conference championship games of the NFC and AFC respectively.
They could have done something similar in college football with the power 4 conferences
Round 1: divisional playoff to decide the two teams in the conference championship
Round 2: conference championship games to decide the four conference champions to meet in the “final four” of college football
Round 3: decides which two of the four conference champions will meet for the national championship
Round 4: national championship game
This format would be vastly superior to what we have now.
And as for the group of 5, create a playoff for them where, unlike the current format, they actually have a realistic shot at winning a national championship of their own.
