If you listen to the full clip, it's pretty clear he's referring to the total person and all the contributions they make to everyone around them.

Every Recruit knows what the terms of the Contract are before they get involved with Saban, this won't hurt Recruiting one bit
Example: an elite DL is deciding between Schools to play for and Bama's bagmen have come up with $150K and to top it off a long lost "rich uncle" appears and wants to buy the DL an F-150, a competing school can only come up with $75K, of course the Recruit is gonna choose Bama, after all he "really feels a connection with his position coach & his Coordinator and Bama just feels like home"
