re: Why do so many teenagers not care about getting their drivers license anymore?
Posted by jagrays on 4/28/25 at 9:13 pm
Times have changed. Everything is organized for them from the time they are on their first sports team all the way to high school. That incudes being carted around by parents. Rarely do kids hang out at the park or ride bicycles to visit friends and do things spontaneously. They are content to visit on social media or video games and do get out to see friends as often as older generations.
Im in the minority, but I think legal age should be 17 before they can drive. Kid's today are less mature than they were 20 years ago. There are exceptions but it is true for the majority. I work close to a high school and the way kids drive is scary. They do not have a clue how close they are to changing lives forever.

This is rich coming from someone that can't afford a repair. If you had it all figured out, paying for a repair would not be an issue.

Are saying they should just allow you to make payments in 4 intervals? Why would they do in-house financing at 0%? Most larger repair shops will offer financing with approved credit.

I would just get a convertible.
re: Purchase parts and expect me to put them on...

If you wanted to work by the hour you would be working for someone else. If you own your own shop, you have overhead expenses and need a mark-up on parts to cover that. If you have a customer that does not understand that then you really don't want them as your customer. These type customers are cheap and the most difficult to deal with.

What is a corporate slave? If you feel like a slave then leave the plantation and start your business.

This X 1000. It's work ethic, something that is sorely lacking these days. It's a good thing that the inventors in the early days of our country had it or we would still be riding horses and living in homes without A/C.

There needs to be a balance. Some people want to get ahead and have more, that may mean working extra and actually caring about their job. If they spend quality time with their family when they have free time it probably works out.
Usually the same people that complain about working extra hours and how it is keeping them away from their families, are the same people that are stuck to their phones all evening while junior is playing video games 5 hours every day.

40 or so. I'm now looking in to lens replacement(cataract) surgery. That technology has improved over the last few years.

Age takes a toll on us all, but lesbians morph into something unrecognizable as they get older.

After fight ...interview in the ring ...they asked Mike if he were to fight who be " Next"?? He hesitated and then said is Logan Paul (kinda jokingly)
Logan said..."what? i'd kill you MFer".....just think that was classless / air-headed response from Logan
The exchange looked scripted and possibly to set up a fight between the two. None of them have shame when it comes to making a dollar.

I think that Trumps win made everyone realize that the woke people are in the minority. I'm sure you will still see some ads like that but it will be much less.
re: Parent's; how do you deal with child moving to another state?

It will get easier as the weeks go by. If he is happy with the area and his job it will be fine. If it is terrible he can always come back. My son is over 1,000 miles away in college. It was tough at first but it has been a good experience for him which has made it easier.
