That has to be an all-time top 10 post on this board. And credit to the guy who told the story on himself.
Plaquemines Parish oranges were always a holiday season favorite, and great in Old Fashioneds, but after Katrina, freezes, and disease they aren't as easy to find like in the past. I buy them when they are available.
Old man Reeboks.

Just kidding. Make sure whatever shoe you pick is right for your foot. What may be comfortable to one person is uncomfortable or even bad for another person to wear.

FWIW, there has been discussion of downsizing BRPD to reduced focus on a specific core of city responsibilities and elevating an expanded EBRSO to handle the broader law enforcement role BRPD now provides. Not offering an opinion, just saying that has been suggested in some quarters.
I remember when K&B would have piles of these for Halloween. The costumes always seemed like they might be really scary, but then the plastic outfit with illustrations would be a let down.

I don’t get the hype on Mary Lee. They are ok.

I think it varies a bit by location. As some have mentioned, the one on Perkins is really good. If you like the light style Mary Lee donut, they do it well.
I think this board might pitch in for a Jet2 Holiday

A true treat growing up over there. That honey bun was delish!!!!!

A Jay's Honeybun was something else. That, chocolate donuts, and Saturday morning cartoons made for a great start to the weekend.

I've read about problems in tennis or other international sports for years. Supposedly organized crime elements would threaten players (often said to be Eastern European along with those threatening) and/or family members and encourage them to take a dive. These would not necessarily be names most people know, but players qualified to play in Open matches and touring.
Unfortunately, I think more people know what a good coach looks like.
These contracts need clawback provisions or 10 year terms need to go the way of single bar helmets.
Yes. We no longer interact in person as we prefer our own individualized AI notions of a perfect family
AI bots won’t cost near as much and they’ll always write glowing reviews on Glassdoor

They should call that the Wall Street. The haircut that all but guarantees success.

Its a function of how aggresive the principal is in assessing itself during the nomination process...Not saying its bad, but its really a "MEH" award.

As something to point at and say, "my school is better", I don't like it when people draw that conclusion. When a school is willing to take the effort to go through the process, and possibly helping ensure they have addressed weak areas of concern, it seems like a positive exercise. It also is a way to recognize and celebrate good, well run schools. I'm disappointed the program has been terminated.

All of the parochial schools go in waves

There is a lot of truth in this, but often for a wide array of reasons. A change of administrations will have an effect, but also the age demographics of surrounding neighborhoods. Areas can see an increase or decrease in young families and this will drive enrollment at the nearby schools, making some seem better or worse at any given time.

The other part of this conversation often overlooked is that some schools are simply a better fit for both the family and the children. Anyone selecting a school would do well to visit more than one, spend time at school events where you can get a true feel for the community, and strongly consider the environment your child needs to thrive. While some schools are objectively producing better results than others, the differences are often more about the school community than the school itself.
It depends on what you want to hear. If you’re looking for rock bands like the in the 70’s through the 90’s that played on mainstream radio, you don’t find channels like that anymore. If you’re into college radio/alternative or other styles, there’s no shortage of new music. There are a lot more bands that are really one guy who does everything with the help of a computer to mix it all, then tours with other musicians when performing live. The streaming services or playlists on YouTube will always introduce to new music.
Total Wine in BR Keg Inventory

Guess the days of of a $38 keg of Natural Light are over.
Here is my experience. Somewhere around 10-15 years ago, Starbucks coffee went downhill when they stopped using whole milk in drinks and began tinkering with the coffee so it didn't overpower skim milk. They also introduced the new automatic machines. The resulting coffee didn't have any depth or coffee taste like before, so then they moved towards more added flavoring and seasonal drinks. Their regular espresso based drinks without all the added sweeteners or flavors taste watered down or burnt. If you try ordering one with whole milk like they were made back when the chain took off, you can barely taste the coffee and the drink is pale.

Starbucks can tweak here and there all they want, but the problem is their coffee.
