I read an article today that Saban has "elected" to sue and not to waive a liquidated damages claim against former Gump receivers and recruiting coordinator Mike Groh who left the Gumps in 2013 for the Chicago Bears. So let's see, Saban leaves multiple programs over the years while openly refusing to have any buyout clause for himself, yet goes after a former assistant for doing the same thing... for allegedly the grand sum of $57,000. How honorable.

Did Groh have a buyout clause?

1. I doubt it is Saban's call.
2. What you described isn't hypocrisy, it is bargaining power.

I am not enamored with Saban. But there is no question that he is our primary competition from recruits to wins. His character is an issue. As an LSU fan, I am glad to help call attention to it.

So Alabama enforcing a contract that both parties agreed to somehow translates to "Saban Hypocrisy" and Saban being dishonorable in your mind?

Jesus man, it's been 10 years since the man left your team, it's time to move on.

You've convinced me. I'm withdrawing my nomination of Nick Saban for sainthood.

You just can't trust anybody these days.

You do not understand the meaning of one of these things.

If Mike Groh doesn't want to pay a buyout he shouldn't sign a contract with one.
