re: Extra snaps for Tua /= extra yards and TDs for Tua

I'm tired of seeing this comparison with the Oklahoma QB. It would be unprecedented to award someone the Heisman trophy with the assumption that he would have better numbers with an equal amount of snaps.
Ok. When we go up by 3 scores on you in the title game and pull Tua late in the third quarter, we won't claim anything about what his stats would have been.

Well, he also groomed your coach who has you playing at the highest level you have in years and years, so there's that.

But 5 and 6 don’t matter so...
Since 4-6 did not have a team that was "unequivocally" better than the other two, then you go to the criteria they use, the first of which is supposed to be conference champions.
In the end, no matter what is said and how they slice it, it comes down to a vote. They don't use consistent criteria. So it is what it is.

I just hope we can play to our standard level of defense, and that we can be as effective against your defense as, say, Kansas.

He just explained it, and it was a clear contradiction. He said there was no team unequivocally better, which means you go to the one loss conference champ...yet they moved Ohio State to 6th. There is no consistency.
The committee will have a hard time explaining 4-6

If you emphasize conference championships, or you emphasize fewer losses, then you put OU and tOSU 4 and 5. If you push those two things aside and go with who has been more dominant and wins the "eye test" for the team that looks like the best, you put Georgia 4th and the other two 5 and 6. I can't imagine the gymnastics you use to put OU 4, UGA 5, and tOSU 6. That seems crazy. Whichever way you pick them, Oklahoma and Ohio State are next to each other and Georgia is either ahead of them or behind them.

Bama played an unreal game against LSU. But if you zero in on Tua's stats, they were fairly pedestrian:
He was 25/42 (59.5%) with 295 Yards Passing, 2 TD and 1 INT. Averaged 7.02 yards/attempt.
Decent, but nothing spectacular.
Fair, but stats don't show everything. Sometimes it's about when you make that tough throw, how many are dropped, etc. I think Tua was more impressive than those stats against LSU. And I think he was worse than his stats looked against UGA.
re: How can a team not be penalized for losing

Why do you want to penalize or reward anyone? You select the best 4 teams based on the criteria you're given.
re: Game MVP

Hurts is the reason Bama won (along with a suddenly tough defense in the 4th quarter). But how do you give MVP to a guy who played half a quarter?
re: Beg Georgia Beg

You lost to Vanderbilt for the third year in a row, knocking you out of a bowl game.
Now what were you saying?

I would give it to Fromm.

He didn’t want his secondary exposed like the were. The playoffs will have QBs that can use that model as an example. That is why he is trying to get ND in the first round
The "model" of getting heavy pressure while still getting fantastic coverage from the secondary, and while Tua isn't as mobile as usual - any other team that can put together THAT "model" is going to do very well.
I don't believe there's another defense in the likely playoff teams that can do what Georgia's did yesterday.

When given time, and he's healthy, Tua is the best QB in the country. Georgia did a fantastic job putting more pressure on him than he has seen before, and while his injury wasn't enough to keep him off the field, it did make some difference in his ability to escape pressure.
Let's see how he does in the playoffs. If he continues to struggle, then maybe it's because of the defense. But I think LSU was enough to show me he can handle tough defenses.

I think it would be opposite. Bama would want Clemson to play Georgia and Clemson would want Alabama to play Oklahoma/Ohio st
You're right. For some reason I was letting Clemson pick first. Assuming Bama is seeded #1, you are right, Bama would pick Georgia to face Clemson. Then Clemson would have decide between Ohio State, who is the more complete and dominant team on their best day but are ridiculously inconsistent, or Oklahoma, who has a sick offense and cream cheese defense.
re: To be the best you have to beat the best
Posted by Crimson Legend on 12/2/18 at 9:14 am
To beat the best you have to actually play the best. When you play a schedule of pansies, you don't have room to talk shite to a team that stood toe to toe with the #1 team in the country. Clemson may be the best team, but until you play a team with a pulse, we don't know that. Nice win over Pitt.

If we had to choose between playing Notre Dame or Oklahoma, we don't want to play OU.
If it were between Georgia or OU, bring on the Sooners.

For some people, thinking is fun. Considering different perspectives is fun.
Being a dickhead can be fun, I suppose - I'll let you weigh in on that one.

You pick the top 6 teams, then you choose who is seeded #1 and #2. Then, each of the top two teams gets to choose the opponent of the other one. Who does Clemson pick for Alabama? Who does Bama pick for Clemson?
In that "thought experiment", I'm pretty sure Clemson chooses UGA to play Bama and Bama chooses Oklahoma (or maybe Ohio State) to play Clemson. Notre Dame wouldn't be in the mix.
If you're on the committee, maybe you should ask yourself this one if you're trying to pick the best 4 teams.
