As some of you know, I enjoy it when the Tigers collect 4 runs in a single at-bat via a ball over the fence.

Last night's victory blast was unique for a number of reasons.

The Tigers won by a walkoff hit. OK, that happens a bit.

That walkoff hit was a homer. Rarer, but it happens.

That homer was a grand slam. Even rarer.

That grand slam ensured a run-rule victory. A singular event.

All four players who scored were subs (Reaves, Paul, Beck, Frey). Possibly the only time in LSU's history that all these events commingled.

Run-rule victories are a fairly recent innovation in the history of baseball, but that pitch and result may not happen again for many years, if ever.

No one can know that many Tiger greats without being a fan. Wish we could get him on staff some way.
