I get where Saban is coming from... I was a fan before him and God willing I'll be a fan after him... Overall he loves the Bama fanbase and Our University... Sometimes FANATICS need a swift kick in the arse to put things into perspective...

Now rest assured this was a CALCULATED rant...

1) He IS targeting the talking heads who don't know what's going on behind the scenes...He's also putting things into perspective...
10-1... #2/#3 ranked team in the country.. SEC West Champs... DOWN year with a young team(THEY WILL GET BETTER)... Still FIRMLY in the hunt for the SEC AND NATIONAL TITLES...

2) To the players, who are on social medias (18-20 yo kids) getting criticized by our own FANBASE, "Listen to me and not that garbage"...
Most can't even begin to realize the complexities of NFL offenses and defenses... Saban runs one of the most complex defenses you can imagine...

3) He's REALIZES that fans Matter!!! Positive energy matters!!! We need it now more than ever if we are to accomplish what we ALL WANT!!

4)Everyone gives Bama their best shot.. IDGAF about their records.. Why do teams storm the field, like IDIOTS when they beat Bama... Don't think the elite teams do that but most teams celebrate like they've won it all... They get amped up and throw the kitchen sink at Bama... UGA will do the same. KIRBY KNKWS this will be a WAR..

Finally I get it... Fans are human.. Sometimes we can be victims of our teams success and get spoiled... ANY fanbase in America would give be EUPHORIC to win 6 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS out of 12 years.. Let that REALLY sink in for a moment...The only one even CLOSE is Clemson... 2 in that same span...

Fans have every right to complain... It's a free county.. At least for now... Saban isn't always right .. He's human like the rest of us .. BUT don't be surprised if he blasts you and it hurts your feelings... That's his right to.. I don't always agree with him... IMO, at times, he can be an arse... During an interview he was asked something about how he's portrayed by the media at times(cold, ruthless, and harsh)... He was truly shocked because he didn't feel that was who he TRULY IS.. BUT Even Miss Terry once told him, and I'm paraphrasing here, "you have to take some responsibility for the way people portray you"... In other words, you can certainly come across that way at times... Hence the reason why it might seem as if he's lost some of his fire... In actuality he's trying to be nicer.. lol....

Anyway folks, have a good Thanksgiving... To my fellow fans, our Coach ain't going nowhere... He loves the University of Alabama, our FANBASE, and knows that he has the best job in America... Rival fans attempt to stir the pot and attempt to make situations like this, seem like the end of the world for Bama, in order to stir up controversy.. It's a tactic utilized in warfare. We've ALL heard the phrase "divide and conquer"... Read Sun Tzu to really get insight into how brilliant of a strategy it is... This isn't war but I think most get the point .. Some of us take the bait like a moth to a flame... Most don't... To those rival fans, I say this, tune in the SEC championship game.. Watch the SEC West Champs play against an elite team... We might lose, but BAMA is there AGAIN... MUST sting a little knowing that...Huh OP? Mr.LSU fan...

I hate to admit but Saban has earned a great deal of my respect over the years. I appreciate the way he coaches his players and defends them when needed.

That was a Rant for every FANBASE in college football whether you accept it or not.

This team, as it stands, just isn't going to achieve that standard, and he's known it all year. I agree with him that FANS should accept what it is and not expect perfection every year. We should hope for it, but not expect it EVERY year. But, fans are people, and most people are extremely dumb.

I agree with you... As I stated before we can give opinions.. Saban isn't perfect... AND I don't believe for a second that he has a problem with people giving opinions... That rant was more for that select few who insult college kids... Keyboard warriors say the darndest things AND the media... He's also giving hai players a pep talk and telling our FANBASE that we are NEEDED... Make no mistake, fans have a HUGE IMPACT... Without the fans, who drive revenue via advertising, ticket sales, interest, recruiting etc... He's doing his best to put us in the best possible position to win. Don't think negative and at times ugly talk affects recruiting? Don't think recruits read social media? Could it affect the chances of us landing those elite prospects if they feel that they will get blasted if they don't meet fan expectations??? MAYBE....

Again Saban loves the University of Alabama and he loves the passion of 98% of our fans... Unfortunately that 2% can be poisonous... Remember 99% of rat poison actually tastes good to rats.. it's that 1% that kills them... Odd that he used that analogy.. Could be SIMPLY coincidence... I tend to think he KNEW EXACTLY what he was saying.. Unfortunately only a few TRULY get it...

This is not personally directed at you. But the thing about that rat poison analogy is that it can be on the coaching staff as well. What people and media heads say to and about players goes with the territory.

What issues I have about Golding as DC and ILBer coach goes straight to the field and immediate results. And whether fans voice that correctly to the team or not, the frustration of the last 4 years is real and frankly, it's ain't going anywhere.
