Beyond the obvious upgrades in talent, MM's demeanor on the sidelines may be one of the biggest differences. Like others have said, he's been fiery. Chewing on the refs. Pumped up and motivating his team if the other team is forced to call a timeout. Very different feel.

It also seems like we may have 27 members on the coaching staff. The bench behind the bench is jam packed with staff. Maybe its the one on one coaching!? We have enough staff for it.

This is his moment to build momentum. Football is a dumpster fire and baseball is a ways away. Win a couple of games and the fans will come out.

I’ll reassess when they play a team with a pulse

Don't let the name fool you. UNO has a good team this year. They've already gone on the road this year and beaten TCU coached by a top tier coach in Jamie Dixon. LSU beat them by 35.

Couple that with the scrimmage win against UCF at UCF and the tea leaves are shaping up
We may make some noise this year. The team is talented, long, experienced and athletic with some key pieces in place.

PGs can make a team go from being an average team to a good team. LSU has a really good one in Thomas. Natural floor leader with great vision. First PG of the McMahon era that can run his sets. Protects the ball and is going to be near the top of the league in assists.

Sutton could be a double double machine. Great inside out player and relentless energy. Can play with his back to the rim or step out for 3s. Very tough to guard.

Will be interesting to see how they do when the competition steps up but their scrimmage win against a pretty good UCF team at their place has given me some hope.

Best opening scene for a tv series.

Lost is in the running but hard to beat Better Call Saul. So much is learned and felt without a single word being said. Also weaved in Saul’s own words that his best case scenario would be “working at a Cinnabon in Omaha”. Was this his plan all along?

we would have to end the game with more points scored than alabama.

You should geaux on Kill Tony.
I know this is a little off topic but there is a game Saturday night. What would have to happen for LSU to pull it off?

I certainly don't think Alabama is invincible. FSU was a beatdown (and FSU are no world beaters) and Alabama has struggled against mediocre teams this year.

I think if the LSU team that beat Clemson shows up, there's a shot. A controlled offensive game plan that doesn't let the QB (Nuss or MVB) sit in the pocket waiting for things to develop downfield. Sticking with the running game even if you're not getting 5 yards a play. Playing more defensive zones and playing a true nickel instead of putting Perkins on a WR or TE. A couple of turnovers our way would be nice too.

I have YTTV and an ESPN+ subscription but that doesn't necessarily mean that I will still get ESPN, ESPN2, SECN etc through the ESPN app...correct?
Who is critical to keep as foundation pieces of the program?

Coaches-
1) Raymond- Proven commodity. Significant increase in talent and production since his return
2) Hankton- Great track record of development and production.
3) Wilson- In state relationships are critical

Players-
1) Berry- Limited sample size but could be the centerpiece of an offense
2) Pickett- Elite shut down corner who is only going to get better
3) Green- Just scratching the surface of his potential. Instant mismatch that could be used in a variety of ways. He could be our version of Tyler Warren that carried Penn St deep into the playoffs
Didn't we grab Daniels out of the portal partly out of concern that the OL would not be able to protect Brennan and we needed someone with mobility?

Our tackles are turnstiles. I don't think Nuss is a bad QB, he is just a sitting duck waiting for things to develop downfield. MVB may be a better fit for this offense simply because he has some escapability to get out of there when the line ultimately breaks down.
Wasn’t specifically to you. Just replying to the thread.
My apologies.

Not to be repetitive, but we need to pick a lane. Anyone else see the irony of complaining about BR thug life on game day and then having a light show to a song in the stadium that celebrates BR thug life. How about collectively screaming STTDB but complaining when trashy things occur on campus? Who do we wanna be? You can't start the ride and then complain when it picks up speed.

Other seemingly inconsequential decisions that hastened the decline-
Closing of the Indian mounds- kids used to envelope it on game day as their play area. Kids mean families. Closed it and families left the area.

Charging to park overnight - the cost led to the rise of mega tailgates. Pooling resources to defray costs. This led to the decline of the smaller family oriented tailgates.

Forcing Greeks from their houses to the parade grounds- rather than college kids hanging out with other college kids in smaller groups on the edge of campus at their frat and sorority houses, we moved them all next to one another in one big drunken blur in the heart of campus. This also makes it easier for non students to join in. The largest green space on campus transforms from family tailgates with kids playing football to what it is now.

None seems like a big deal but all created a family void. That void got filled by something else.

Yeah it’s white kids chanting sttdb that are running around shooting people on Instagram live. You should run for governor you fricking genius

The stadium collectively chants STTDB and we are surprised when trashy things happen. We bought the ticket and now we are riding the ride.
Babyface for the win

Whip Appeal was 6 mins of slow dancing bliss
Such a trashy cheer but even more offensive is the lack of creativity from an age group that is supposed to be creative. At some point in LSU's history, someone came up with the chants and hand motions to first down LSU and second down LSU. Someone came up with the bow for Chinese bandits/third down stops. "O WE O, you suck". "A**hole, A**hole" during Tiger Rag. Even the hand motion to the original "Neck". For the last 15 years, the only creativity has been trying to shoe horn STTDB into any and every song. Even with AI/Chatgpt, we are just stuck on stupid.
Seems like it never got above a brisk 96.

Clemson weather next weekend

All signs pointing to an early cool front passing through the area next week. Highs in the upper 70s/low 80s. Football weather is upon us.
