It's not a melt. Everything Saban does is for a reason. He's sticking up for the players and that will make them buy in more etc.
Plus, let's be honest. He's not wrong about Alabama fans at all. So many of them are super dumb and have knee jerk reactions to every single play.
Although really I see more complaining about coordinators than players, but as I said in paragraph one, Saban is doing this for a reason.

29 points against Florida
35 against Arkansas
41 against A&M

The same people that Saban is ranting about are the same people that funnelled millions upon millions of dollars to his program under the table so he could buy players.
And in college football, when you can create such a decided advantage by out-talenting 98% of the other teams, your fanbase is going to get spoiled and expect only the best.
Not defending the Bama fans in the least, but Saban and the players aren't coaching and playing at Troy State and ULM for a reason.
If they didn't want unreasonable expectations, then that's where they should have gone.
Saban is and always has been a sociopathic asshat.
He thinks his team may actually lose this weekend to an inferior opponent, so he's "sticking up for his players" in a deluded rant.
There's a reason why this jerk was run out of the NFL by the media professional sports media and fans.

So? Do you think the team is going to be perfect every year? Are you really that out of touch that you can't realize how fricking awesome it is to have a 1 loss regular season during a "down year""?
It's not looking like it's going to be our year, and we STILL this late in the season have a chance if things come together. 13 years ago we would have killed to be at this level, and now we lose 1 game during the regular season and have a few bad defensive games and Alabama fans are like:
