Never said he was immune to criticism... But he's human... Golding might NOT be the right hire .. BUT he's giving the man a chance AND he's still winning... Where's the issue? What if Golding gets it right next year and Bama looks like Bama of old? Could it happen? I don't know... But even Saban wasn't the GOAT that we all know and love when he was a young DC...

Again Saban is human and fallable.. Constructive criticism is good... No one know it all.. BUT if someone criticizes, without KNOWING all of the facts, they shouldn't be surprised if they get criticized back..

Good for Nick Saban to say this. The Bama fans who bitterly complain about barely winning games need to hear this message.

Nick Saban, in years past, has dominated entire post-game press conferences with his bitches and complaints because "the team didn't finish", even though the scoreboard was lopsided. He is the guy that is infamous for not only obsessing over the smallest detail - but publicly complaining that his standards were not met.

I'd say Alabama fans have heard his message quite clearly. He's trained them to it. It's puzzling now, however, that he's chosen to completely change the message. Bitching that the fans are clinging to his old message, instead of his new message, is not a good look.

As an is in a unique position in that he can speak his mind to the boosters and fans. He will retire at the end of his current contract. They can let him go now or when his contract runs out. He will still get paid.

Great rant by Nick. Every fan base should hear his messy

The Easy Button Crowd on the (yours as well) can't handle it. It is only going to get worse because each year the recruiting pool will get even worse.

Have a good laugh on Bama/Nick but this story is already playing in your own roster.

So, I guess here I just should congratulate you on your loyalty to the Crimson Tide come hell or high water. That's what you just said.

Do you mean like 2017, when Bama had multiple injuries on the defense all season and when they walked off the field in Atlanta they weren't just NC but they also had the number 1 defense in the nation? Sure, but only if Jeremy Pruitt is walking through that door.

4 years is a lot to look at. I don't necessarily believe everything I hear. Cause it's hearsay, second-hand info. Even a court of law won't let you get away with it.

I believe what I see. That's firsthand info. And coach Saban might as well gird up, cause that's what fans are seeing and believing.

Some folks are weak-minded and take arse chewings personally... Guess having gone through boot camp, my skin is a little thick... Even if I have an ounce of culpability, I'll ask myself, "ok what can I do better?" That said, one must always ask, what's the point of this verbal thrashing? Is it meant to bring out my best? What his or her angle? Is it meant to just be mean... To answer those questions, I have to also ask, how has this person treated me overall??

Saban has generally been very complimentary of the Bama fanbase... He also knows that it's a rabid one... He accepted the challenge knowing that.. Prior to taking the Bama job, he asked Gene Stallings IF he should? Stalling told him, "You should ABSOLUTELY take the job"... Yes we have our share of idiots who should be institutionalized but the vast majority of the Bama nation are very good fans.. That rant WASN'T directed towards them... No matter how much some on this board MIGHT HAVE WANTED IT TO BE ..

Good to see Saban recognizes Bama t-shirt fans are the worst fans in the sport.

Congrats... You're the petulant childish, self-absorbed fan that he's referring to..lol...

I personally believe Golding should be released.. BUT I don't know what's going on behind the scenes... Saban still has him here for a reason...

Lemme give you a biblical example... Jesus says don't judge lest you be judged... Took me 20 years of studying to understand what Jesus was saying ESPECIALLY when applying logic and reason.. now Don't get your panties twisted here because I'm simply making a point here.. He was saying should not rush to judgement without knowing all the facts... In other words DONT PRONOUNCE that person's sentence without ALL relevant data... God can judge immediately because He knows all details.. We don't...

Ask yourself, why is it that when someone is charged with a crime, ALL available facts are presented to the judge and/or jury PRIOR to sentencing??
We don't rush to sentencing and make knee jerk reactions without knowing the facts and circumstances surrounding the case...

I've stated before and I'll state it again, Saban knows what's going on behind the scenes... He will do what he thinks is right... Could he be wrong in this instance? Could Holding not be the right man for the job?? DERRRRRRR... BUT 6 national titles in 12 years makes me, perhaps naively, believe that he knows more than we do... Also, we tend to forget that Golding, like many of us, has a family... Putting myself in Pete's shoes, I say thank GOD for people like Saban because if not for folks giving me chances, in spite of my failures, I'd be FOCKED... Saban has been known to give people chances and support them when others would kick them to the curb... Butch Jones cried on live tv... Kiffin stated that when Saban called him, his phone wasn't ringing off the hook... Mac Jones had a DUI, and now he's a multimillionaire and QB of the Patriots.... I could give you countless examples... But I think you get the point... Let's trust the man.. RALLY behind our team and everything will work itself out... ROLL TIDE

I think you're right. He's trying to reset expectations. In this case, the expectation that they'll beat Georgia.

That's all this is, I think. Good catch.
