I can't believe they chose a mascot that is literally connected to the team that is bringing their program damning sanctions. Incredible.

Always seemed to me that everyone always wants the Mississippi schools to remain in some time-warp, while their own state schools progress and excel.
It's like, they want schools like Ole Miss to be some bastion to times past, but they want their own school to be successful and recruit effectively.
Basically, "You guys cling to that stuff and suck, while we don't and do well. Because it's important that you cling to it for us. But we don't want to have to pay any price for it, so you do it instead."
Very weird. Noticed that about both Mississippi schools actually. Seems like fans from other schools are more invested in that stuff than even the Mississippi folks are.

Ole Miss is a complete joke and all this Mascot changing stuff is beyond embarrassing. The powers that he need to say "look, we're the Rebels and that's the end of it" If they can't use Colonel Reb then don't even have a damn mascot on the sidelines but keep the namesake.
