The Oregon football program has reportedly filed a lawsuit against former defensive back Dakoda Fields after his offseason transfer to Oklahoma, alleging he failed to fully repay a negotiated NIL contract buyout tied to his departure from Eugene.

According to reports, Fields owed a remaining $10,000 balance after agreeing to a settlement tied to his NIL agreement with Oregon, making the case one of the more notable examples yet of schools attempting to enforce transfer-related NIL contract provisions in the evolving college football landscape.

The lawsuit adds another layer to the growing national debate surrounding player movement, NIL enforcement, and the legality of buyout clauses in college athletics.

If you’re going to get paid like a pro, you should be held accountable like a pro.

People like you avoid accountability like it’s the plague. Oregon already settled with him for $10k and the kid still defaulted. What makes you think he’s going to honor some other repayment plan?
